Multiplayer?

The Long Dark is awesome and how awesome would it be to go online with 4-5 friends. You all spawn in different areas of the map and can only proximity voice chat. If you or a friend dies - they are done. If they die in a separate area you find their dead corpse and can loot them in the snow. To keep it interesting and fun you would not want to have a 3rd party voice chat on like teamspeak or xbox party chat.

This would be very very hard to implement and unlikely to ever happen. Game is build around time which is the biggest enemy of coop games. For example when you needed to sleep then everyone would need to sleep. If they are able to play while you are crafting, sleeping or cooking then you would have to wait actual game time which means cooking 1 piece of meat would take 2 real minutes while your friends scavange outside. Or even a bigger problem lets say you are crafting something for 10 ingame hours that would mean 50 real minutes of crafting for you.

This game would be complete with a online version so you could play with friends and compete with other people around the globe!
