Simple request for the oil lamp

Please allow me to hang it from the light fixtures. I know that I can re-position it around the room but I'd like to be able to hang it from above where it would shed more light below. Which brings me to my next point, the lamp we have seems to be a modern lamp and yet doesn't shed anywhere near the amount of light that modern lamps and simple kerosene do. It is possible to turn up the amount of light given off by one of those lamps?

A quick thought to add to this, would be nice if I could vary the burn time of the fuel but reducing the amount of wick used (simple dial on the lamp). If I want a lot of light, then I'll burn through fuel more quickly, less light, less fuel. Simple play-style choice, but one I hope can be incorporated in...especially hanging that lamp above my head.
