Non-reacting wolf

This was my second encounter, so I knew what to expect and left the lantern on the floor, so I would see the wolf and could shoot it. Unfortunately, it just came in and stopped. I was in the farthest corner and actually shot at it, but that had no effect. After watching it not move anywhere for some time, I decided to take a step forward and then it attacked.
