Lamoi
Currently, wolves at least visually don't look very formidable, they look like scrappy little dogs. Real wolves are quite big compared to domestic dogs....
Shanti
I think the wolves are actually pretty close to the right size. These aren't supposed to be dire wolves, after all.Remember that in reality, most wolves would hunt in packs, especially to run down elk or deer, or hunt a man. While dangerous one on one, they are naturally afraid of us, and would normally attack / defend themselves as a group. Otherwise, they harry their prey, taking small bites and weakening it until they can finish it off themselves.I think the Gray does a good job of showing this when the group bumps into the first wolf. The wolf doesn't charge strait in and eat someone, it takes a bite out of someone, and keeps up the pressure around their fire all night long. It howls for it's buddies, and keeps tracking them, knowing that sooner or later, someone will drop out of their group and can be a tasty meal.
