New monitor and poor graphic performance

The game looked fantastic until yesterday.  I just got a new 4k 32" monitor for Xmas.  I didn't notice an issue until I got to Coastal Highway (from DP).  There are far fewer trees and half just look like sticks with no branches.  The hills are just rounded slopes.  I've made sure that my video card (RTX 1080) drivers are up to date.  I've fiddled with the settings.  I have basic computer literacy so I don't know what else to do.  Suggestions?
