I was playing the PC game from the Xbox marketplace and on the third day into the challenge, in the town of Milton I went into the last house before the bridge and upon leaving I was transported somewhere past the church without my stuff, but some random clothes and some matches.

That's happened to a few people before.. htl were aware of the bug.  

Did you reload the game? It usually sorts the problem out if you haven't saved it after it happened.
