Elk and/or Caribou 2nd in a series of possible updates

I have a bunch of ideas for things to add to the game and will make many separate posts so you guys can give feedback for each idea.

Elk and or Caribou (Reindeer) would be large herbivores rarer than deer, like the rarity of moose but passive and would provide less meat than a moose but could easily provide 30-40kgs of meat. On an elk, it would be pretty easy to tell the difference between the males and females while caribou would be slightly harder since females also have antlers, but they would be significantly smaller than the male’s antlers

I thought about Elk before (they're common here; I actually had to stop & wait for a herd to cross the road while driving home Monday night), but honestly I think it would just be too easy/not enough of a niche. Either they're oversized deer or undersized moose.

Exactly! Supposed to be a rare, non violent small moose basically

I was thinking about Elk the other day too, they're pretty common the more north you get. I was in northern Wisconsin one summer, and saw more Elk than I did deer.
