Episode 4 Help Minimal Spoilers

So I think I might've soft locked myself, basically I'm at the point where you go to the mine, and before that there's a moose on the lake by the stone cabin. I got attacked by the moose giving me the broken ribs condition. I decided to power through and continue into the mine to retrieve the item. So when exiting the mine you have to go an alternate route that requires climbing a rope, and I can't do that due to broken ribs, and all of my auto saves have saved past the initial moose attack. Am I locked into restarting or is there a way out of the mines that does not require me to climb ropes?
