Hesitant Prospect Bugs: POSSIBLE WAY TO BACKUP YOUR LOST GAME SAVES OR IF NOT LOST YET THEN BACKUP!

Hello, 

My online name is Professor Quail. I am very good with technology and files, computer stuff, all that juicy stuff. I am not a professional yet, though. I have read that there are a couple large bugs in this update and some of those follow as: Losing game worlds, not being able to load games, losing or/and gaining badges for no reason, and that is all I have read so far from the admins and players. I AM NOT AN ADMIN. Most of you probably don't know this, but your game saves and story mode saves and all other saves are stored in a folder located in your storage. If they are deleted, you can't open them in the game. Like other games, you can export a game save to another device, like Cookie Clicker, Minecraft, and many more.

I am here to try and help those of you who have "possibly permanently lost" game saves and world saves, etc. In the app data, there are the files for all the game saves.

C:\Users\PUT YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Local\Hinterland

PUT YOUR USERNAME HERE, is where you need to put your computer user name, not username, I mean USER. NAME. So if you don't know what this is it is in the top of your file explorer(I use windows, sorry for others. ). It is the one located where the location above is.

Copy and paste this address into that bar and click enter. You will see two folders.  One named The Long Dark, and another named The Long Dark NoSync.

The one named The Long Dark is the one where your most important game saves are. The other folder has something else, but they aren't the important game saves.

So that is what your file explorer should look like when you paste it in and click enter. (To paste it in you can either open the File Explorer or you can press WINDOWS+R Paste into and press enter.)

Now there should be files like this.

If you have files here, but when your in game they aren't loading or aren't showing in the load game section, then I would recommend copying these files, you should copy the whole Hinterland folder in the app data so that nothing is forgotten, and moving it onto a USB or separate storage device. Just in case they are 100% deleted in the hotfix, you can know that you can load those games into the new, fixed, version of the game later on. I haven't played the update yet because I read about the bugs, be careful. Now if you have the files but are missing some, and aren't showing in the  menu load saved game section, then I don't know what to say for that. Maybe check the trash bin, OR see if your Steam Cloud is on, then maybe if the hotfix arrives, you can see if the Steam Cloud saved your games and loads them when you play or if uninstalled, when you reinstall.
