piddy3825
Day three in my new sandbox when I find the "Medical Prepper Cache" near the top of the rope climb by the Western Access area on Mystery Lake. Been playing this game for years and have never come across it until now. From what I understand about the bunker spawning dynamics, this particular bunker if I am not mistaken only spawns in this particular location. Having finally found it, I've cobbled together a little photo journal of what you might find when you discover this elusive prepper's cache. I should have probably zoomed in but you can see how closely the hatch hugs the rock wall. just enough room between the hatch and the rock to make a nice little fire that has some moderate shelter from the wind. clambering down the ladder you notice how many tree roots have penetrated the cinder block walls. This place feels old, damp and musty... as you start looking around once you've descended the ladder, you see two lockers some metal shelving and a Medicine shelf. Doesn't look too promising. Examining the shelving I find a lantern, a whetstone and 3 flare shells. the Medicine shelf holds promise, right? Energy bar? Weak, I expected more! Next to loot are the lockers I take lantern from the shelf and fire it up. lets put some light on the subject. I was definitely surprised by the amount of loot I pulled out of these two lockers. Starting with the right most locker, A nice wool cowl. feeling warmer already A worn army jacket. Starting to look promising A pair of worn gauntlets. Gonna take a lot of scrap leather to repair these old things. Hello another lantern and in much better condition still getting warmer with this worn jacket. as I turn my gaze towards the other side of the room, i get a glimpse of some more lockers, file cabinet and shelving, all promising some good stuff I can use. Fully facing the opposite side of the room from the ladder, I spy some shelving with some soda and a few water bottles. A desk with a flash light, some matches and a cold cup of coffee. Wondering what is in the First aide cabinet? me too! There's a crate and a cardboard box with a couple of newspapers. I decide to harvest the crate and cardboard to see if there is anything inside or underneath. turns out nothing... i dropped back the plugs and the reclaimed wood for illustration closer examination and I find a box of tea. The flash light was at 34% condition... yeah, been there for a long time. Time to check out the desk and the first aide kit Box of tea in the middle drawer another box of tea in the upper right hand drawer time to rip into the first aide kit, gotta be some medicinal's in here, right? thought there would be more in the first aide kit besides a bottle of antibiotics and a bandage entering the main room and and sleeping area, you find some lockers, file cabinet, shelving with some obvious goodies on it an another cardboard box. Again I harvest the box to see if any treasures are inside or underneath, of course nothing but some tinder plugs for my efforts. and from this perspective you see the bed with some books, another single locker and the vent grate from the old hvac system. A little bit more loot on the medicinal side of things, with a few more bandages, a couple of emergency stims, along with some antibiotics, pain killers, a couple more energy bars and some assorted food items. Sewing kits come in handy... besides repairs I am sure I might have to stitch myself up sometime down the road. checking out the file cabinet yields some scrap metal in the second drawer and an old pair of mittens in the next drawer down. the two lockers adjacent the file cabinet were empty I turn to the single locker next to the foot of bed. a look inside and I find this decent thin wool sweater, making me think this outta be a clothing bunker... and what have we here? could use this later for sure... no rifle in the medicine hatch! Shedding a little light under the bed reveals another bottle of antibiotics and painkiller along with a couple more bandages a quick check of the vent grate reveals nothing. a last glance around to make sure nothing has been missed... looks like i got it all! To recap my findings, I ended up 3 bottles of antibiotics and two bottles of pain killers. along with a couple of emergency stims, the energy bars and the sewing kits, seemed pretty weak for being a medical cache in my humble opinion. This must be what was left over after the previous owner abandoned this bunker. At the very least, I got a good start with the clothing and various items left behind. Hope you find this bunker too the next time you launch a new game! Thanks for reading! And, please secure the hatch on your way out, Thank you.
