JohnDoe60 Posted August 1, 2018 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Similar to Nethack, TLD bones files will allow a player to encounter their own remains in subsequent games. I figure it could look like this: Upon death the location, inventory, maybe name, and sandbox game number are saved. New games have a chance of generating a frozen corpse at bones locations. Corpse inventory is degraded based on how old the bones file is - maybe, timestamp old if few bones over a long period and game number old if lots of bones in a short time. The effect this has on game "balance" can be controlled by treating the inventory as a bonus or removing the same items from the surroundings - taking into account that it is only a bonus if the corpse is found.
