Jeremiah's Folly bear stuck at 4/6

I am fighting this quest since a week, and even after updates, I cannot finish the quest.

I am stuck at 4/6 bear encounters, the bear is roaming around at loggers camp. Whenever I face him or just follow him silently, he walks in circles, never leaves the area. Even after shooting, letting it attack me, shooting the flare gun at it, throwing a torch,  it still resides at the loggers camp. Have tried other locations on the map marked as bear appearance, it never shows up.

I have tried other quests, like Jeremiah's hideout and the Forge. That means, even if I restart the checkpoint by dying on purpose, it won't return me to the Jeremiah quest. It is heavily frustrating that I cannot finish this quest.

Are you sure you hit him?  Maybe try shooting him again with the gun.

Darn, just reached 5/6, I cannot really explain why it worked now, but thank you anyways
