(Spoiler) Possible bug?

I am currently in the Hunting Lodge, the home of the notorious Forest Talkers dun dun duuuuuun. Okay so I've searched every last inch of this place (I'm fairly certain) and I've yet to find the item "that could save my life" according to the quest notes. There is a box that I can't open in the basement. The cursor changes to a blank circle when I hover over it, leading me to believe that it is meant for storage or possibly houses an item relevant to the story. I would like to complete this quest. Please let me know what I'm missing, I don't care if you spoil it for me. Well, don't tell me what happens next obviously lol UNLESS I need to know haha ! Have a good one my fellow bushmen and bushwomen!

Woooowww I'm really bad at "searching every inch" of something, the object I needed was right in front of me. If it was a snake it would have killed me! Never mind.... AGAIN!! Lol
