Joelle Emmily
The movie Never Cry Wolf, which I know was based mostly on a false account, but was experimentally repeated by more than a few, is a great example of someone subsisting on small, very small, game. Mice breed supper fast, and taken as a whole biomass, outweighs any other animal in the wilderness. Even in the winter there will be a population. One could also capture and let a bunch loose in a building and let them go to town multiplying.
