Black Screen

Went to rest in the hallway below the stairs in the upper part of the dam. When i awoke the screen was black, restarted my game and my save was lost. Starting a new game results in a black screen after the quote. i can still hear all the sfx. Bug started with the new patch.

Try to verify the integrity of your game cache via the Steam console. It's possible something updated incorrectly. If that doesn't work you'll have to wait for support in the morning.

I'm able to play the challenges just not the sandbox.

Went with jgxxxx Idea with deleting the contents of  appdata\local\Hinterland and AppData\LocalLow\Hinterland and it has seemed to work. Both had to be deleted for my game to work.

Glad you figured it out. A bit of a bummer of needing to do a fresh install but at least your game works again.

That's not a fresh install - Those are two system folders we use to store saves and persistent data while you play the game. Something seems to off here and have passed these issues on to the team.
