  1. I've been through the list of bugs and issues for PlayStation and didn't find what I encountered.

While in Coastal Highway, I'd exited the Quanset Garage from the back and noticed (as I started walking) that I was a bit lower to the ground as if crouched, but I was upright. If I did crouch, I was literally under the map. To fix this, I had to enter the garage and exit through the other side

As I exited a cabin in the Waterfront Cabins area, the same kind of bug happened. As I left the cabin, I fell a bit  under the map and was badly bruised with matching torn clothes. I figured I could go down to the ice in back of the cabin and pop out of the ground to continue but this didn't work. I had to restart the game to fix this.

While I did manage to find workarounds for these issues, these are just examples of potentially game breaking issues I've encountered. There is also the bugs of crashing that are frankly getting annoying and more frequent.

I love this game and I just want to see things go smoothly for everyone.

  2. Honestly it seems to be the front door to the concentrator that crashes me the most. It's been wide open since the first time I opened it but you still need to press and hold to get in. A lot of times when I try to do through it I crash.

  3. All meat, hide, and guts secured and even picked off a couple deer coming back with the bear meat to repair the sled. When I arrived the bear was frozen of course, and at 55%, but cooking all that meat should put me well over level 5 cooking. Ribs are almost healed too (20 hours of rest to go).

  4. I just wanted to share an experience here because I thought it was somewhat comical but frustrating at the same time and I know for a fact that most of you have similar stories.

The whole in-game day was centered around going to Signal Hill to collect ptarmagin feathers with the bow and fire hardened arrows. I decided to camp out until morning because it was dark, so I went into the nearby cave. It turned out that the birds weren't around so I decided to go to the community center in Thompson's Crossing to collect a cache that I hadn't picked up yet. After collecting it, I decided to take the shortcut home through the field of the outbuildings because I made my base at The farmhouse. I took a little bit of a detour through the lake near the birch trees and found a moose. Since I had my travois with me I decided to sneak up on it and get some meat. Well that all went sideways and it decided to stomp me. Now I have broken ribs and the moose is walking away from me slowly. I picked up what was left of myself and ended up killing it. With my limited movement I was barely able to load up my sled but alone carry anything else. As soon as I'm done loading up, a huge blanket of fog decides to roll in. Now it's getting dark and even though I know the region, I have no idea where I am. Not only that, but after taking a few steps I hear a bear behind me. He must have been walking right behind me the whole time I was trying to find the road because he was really close. I dropped the sled, pulled out my distress pistol, and waited for him to charge. When he did, I shot the flare and he left me alone.. for about 3 seconds. I hear him again and he charges. Keep in mind I'm in dense fog. I somehow managed to spot him and shoot him again and he falls dead right between the bags of meat that I dropped and my sled. So now I have a ton of meat,, 2 hides, a huge amount of guts, and no idea where to go. I left everything there and headed out to where I thought was possibly the road. It ended up being a house at Thompson's Crossing. I slept there for the night and headed out in the morning to find my stuff. It took me a half a day but I found it. No sooner did I grab all that I could with broken ribs had a blizzard hits. Now that I could see I dipped into the barn in the outbuildings but the blizzard ended up lasting literally all day. I stayed there until morning, and somehow managed to get some of the meat back to my base. I'll be going back for the rest of it once I repair everything and heal up a bit. I can't wait too long because it'll despawn.

This is a perfect example of how TLD can turn on you in a second. I just felt like sharing this so please feel free to share your own stories if you like.

75kg of portable outdoor storage that weighs just 1kg when collapsed? You can't afford to NOT craft one. Actually I should look into crafting multiple and just leaving them at my base, in lieu of the rock caches.

This is a great idea in theory but you're forgetting that (and I know this from multiple unfortunate experiences) the travois also degrades in blizzards. It's not a lot but will be over time when substituting for a rock cache.  Brilliant idea to make multiple though. Also, the repair on it is low cost and that one low cost repairs at least 60% from what I've seen.

When it comes to style of gameplay, I'm a hoarder so going through zones where you can't bring it it's kind of a pain, especially multiple zones where you have to dump and carry everything.

  6. I tried the travois for the first time last night and I have to say it's a very handy tool. The very first time I deployed it and actually used it, I'd killed a moose and harvested 90lbs of meat and a hide. It carried everything! Unfortunately, a blizzard hit as soon as I was done packing up so I had to leave it until morning. But it's definitely a great tool for hoarders like myself. What used to take days treking back and forth with loot takes mere hours to a day now.

  7. The only issue I'd see with additional animals is the game world would be slightly cluttered, but if you made them more rare to see or solitary creatures like bears and moose that would work.

Purely for aesthetic reasons I'd love to see and hear whales ..

It would be refreshing to hear that sometimes instead of all the damn wolves.

Beavers, beavers have those nice fat tails you could cook down for cooking oil**. and their fur is water proofed and double layered for extra warmth, great for hoods and gloves, or coat linings.

Squirrels could have stashes of acorns as well, so you get the squirrel meat, fur, and a chance of getting some acorns by checking around the area you killed the squirrel for the possible stash.

Raccoons and Foxes could be a new element: Thieves that get at any unattended food you leave laying around outside. They might steal dead animals from traps, destroying the trap in the process.

** On a side note, getting fat from bear, deer, moose to make into cooking oil should be a thing. animal fat can be used for lamp oil, or making candles and soap*. Tallow can even be used for medical ointments and creams, meaning you could finally treat burns and abrasions with salve.

*Soap is made from tallow and ash, (usually from ash trees for its antiseptic properties. You could carry one light weight multi-use cake of soap as apposed to the big heavy bottles of antiseptic, and unlike the moss bandages, or burdock tea, which are finite, tallow and ashes are renewable.

I like where your head is at, this is great stuff!! You should submit this to Hinterland.

  10. Recently, I was heading to the dam from winding River so I thought I would be smart and avoid the wolf by taking the path higher in the rocks. The wolf still saw me and was following me. It stopped making noise so I thought it stopped following me but when I stopped to repair a piece of clothing I heard his little foot pads in the snow running at me. Scared the absolute hell out of me because there was no time to react. Plus he wasn't making any noise whatsoever except for his running.

Never actually heard that one before!

You have to basically let the characters suffer a day and it's after moaning and groaning about their stomach. I only know this because I ate some fish that was at 50% thinking it was fine and getting food poisoning right after waking up. Let that be a lesson kids, choose your breakfast wisely.

Just remembered - I also found a bonus pair of crampons earlier on my current run (same one with the batteries). Can't actually remember where they were, but I think it was shortly after I'd grabbed the regular pair from the mine, so I think it was probably somewhere in AC or TWM, but I could easily be wrong. Just lying about in the world in a normal random loot spot - kinda took me by surprise. Don't think I've found the Curator's rifle yet in this run tho, so maybe that was my compensation.

Sadly still no Curator's Rifle on my main run....sigh, still bugged. Also my main HAD the boats that wash up on CH but they were invisible with the loot just floating. And there were two of them right next to each other. Same loot in the same spots. Guess I should be grateful for the double flare guns.
