  1. I think the workbench in the hangar basement is ideal for working during auroras and even better when there is glimmer fog as it avoid the affection, what I do not understand is that it is so deep.

    Spoiler

After discovering the omega bunker, and seeing how well equipped it is, being underground, it would be ideal to have a milling machine and ammunition manufacturing. It has several gun cabinets but not for making ammunition.

  2. I have been exploring the area for several days and I think that a good solution is the combination of Mindfull Cabin with the drift island cottage, since you have the workbench, two fishing huts, a nearby moose and even a bear that you can attract to the doorstep of Mindfull cabin to cook it.

What I really miss in these cabins is a real kitchen like the one at Paradise Farm.

Another sad story and awful way to die in The Long Dark.

Imagine you're have a great day, your goal is in sight, just a few more hours and you will find the comforts of home but then this happens.  Suddenly without warning you break thru a crevasse in the snow and plunge to your death into a dimly lit cavern.  Obviously they were killed on impact, but either way another senseless way to die on GBI!

Exploring through the caves of the new territories I have seen that the developers have improved the experience and details like these are appreciated when going through the transitional caves becomes very boring.

  4. Hi! Now that I'm exploring new maps and often get sprained ankles from going where I shouldn't, I saw this photo of Vancouver and clearly felt the need to climb these snowy slopes with my crampons.

An award winning photo from theatlantic.com contest at Mount Seymour, Vancouver, Canada

  5. I've been using the travois for a few days and at first it seemed complicated to overcome some obstacles on the roads, in fact my first experience was to get to BR from FM, how would I overcome the landslide, the tree trunk that acts as a bridge is easy to pass.
The most complicated thing comes when you can not pass through other areas due to unevenness, I have started to use a reserve of stones to empty the travois and move it folded but it is very uncomfortable and you lose a lot of time, perhaps with two travois it is more practical.
The situation gets complicated if you have to go through caves or tunnels in the dark, in that case either you make a torch path or you go blind, until Hinterland does not allow to hang the lantern on the travois.

My conclusion is that it is very practical to use on a mostly flat map, without many slopes or transition zones, especially for transporting huge amounts of smelly meat to your shelter undetected by predators.

  6. I totally agree with you.
I don't see the need to install the famous Ambient Lights MOD for these cases, it should be checked well, I have found really dark interiors with windows without curtains.
With blizzard or storm it would be normal that the sunlight would be altered but with clear day to use the magnifier outdoors does not make sense so much darkness.
In fact there are ice caves with permanent lighting like the one in HRV

  7. When it became available I started by making two lures and prepared two holes in the Milton basin. After noticing how easy it is to lose fishing lures and that it takes a long time to get a fish to catch a bite, I got lazy about making more lures.

Perhaps in an area where there are no fishing huts and gear available with a workbench it would be more practical to fish, such as at Brickslayer Retreat Lake, although I have not checked to see if it would allow holes to be drilled in the ice on this lake.

I think to make this feature more useful all rivers and lakes with some minimum depth and frozen surface should allow fishing in this way.

  8. And if we place various large snowballs ❄❄❄ we can make a snowman with sticks and a hat and scare the wolves ... or attract them and let them destroy the snowman 😥

Now seriously, salting the meat or smoking it would be a great improvement to not having to hunt so much, I would strongly support it 👍

  9. Currently playing in voyager, if possible I attract the bear as lure to a nearby cave so I can easily get its meat after killing it.
I look for a rock in the cave that the bear can't reach, climbing is sometimes possible, I also usually light a campfire inside the cave to shoot it when it stops, although sometimes I can't get on the rock and it catches me. If the cave does not have these rocks I also use a fallen tree trunk to protect myself when shooting.

Spending my last days of the 500 days achievement at Paradise Meadow with Rodolfo's company

Hi, I finally got my 500 day live achievement, on voyager, pretty easy once you reach level 5 in all skills, to the point of spending days sleeping and consuming meat and water non-stop.

My last 100 days at Paradise Meadow Farm were more fun thanks to Bruno and Rufus. Going down to the Milton Basin to hunt the moose and eat the meat in the cave ensures a few days of routine.

One curiosity I discovered is that if you leave the sleeping bag open on the ground, once it gets all messed up you can still sleep without benefit of heat but that's something. I recommend you to get the achievement, once you find the most affordable area of the map with lots of food (bear, moose, fishing...) it is very easy.
