😂 Is it impaled on the tree? 🤔

... You hide inside random cars every time you see a dog on the street, startled when the radio actually works 😱

I didn't discover anything worth risking losing that run. If you really want to experience it, start a new game.
Shame, was hoping for the holy grail or something, it'd have to be to risk it tbh 😄 At least I now know. Appreciate it, cheers 👍👊

Aw man, I hope there is one as I've spent days scouring the map for one 😫 I don't fancy risking my 1023 day run to see what's further in 😬

Absolutely loving the update, Blackrock is fantastically harsh. Anyone noticed the wolves behaving particularly inquisitively? I had four stalking me, thankfully on the opposite side of the prison fences ... Not growling, just ears cocked and trotting in a disturbingly passive manner ... Still eying me up though 😬

Killing crows would be good as a new source of feathers and resources. Would then like an option to bury the dead, feel bad just leaving corpses strewn about; could use stones as makeshift grave markers.
Would love to see more animals on there, isolation is great but seeing something fluffy, cute and new might help strengthen the mind ... Before I have to slaughter it, no doubt 😫😄

Sounds terrifying, like the smoke monster from Lost ... Hmm, perhaps the plane wreckage is Oceanic flight 815 🤔
I've now returned twice to the farmhouse to find smoke billowing from the chimney, after extended periods away ... A fell wind lingers around that creaky old place 😬😄

Just think how much less comfortable you would feel if you could be swept into a chasm by an avalanche!
Haha! Excellent point 😂

That would be interesting, but it would need to have some kind of threatening in-game effect to make it more than window dressing. Avalanche, tsunami, that sort of thing.
For me, atmosphere equates to immersion and sometimes a random sound or sensation is enough to get the nerves jangling and stop me feeling too comfortable 😬😁

I'd like the occasional ground tremor; very rare, mind. Would love to experience that low, bassy rumble reverberating through my speakers in survival.

At present, I'm in the middle of a storm that has hit minus seventy with wind chill factored in. Never seen it that cold. But yeah, Pleasant Valley eh? 🙄😄

As far as immersive gameplay goes, I think the idea of hearing things should be par for the course. Consider the isolation of your character, all of a sudden you've been thrust into a situation where you are suddenly completely by yourself. Even if this "hearing things" is a file corruption issue, I still like the idea that our survivor maybe in his absolute isolation begin to hear things that aren't there. As to a creepy backstory, the history of the PV farmhouse certainly has it's dark moments.
The upstairs interior at some point underwent a remodel after one of the many updates and now looks like this when you get to the top of the stairs,
but it didn't used to look like that. one point where you see upright lamp standing, there once used to sit a crib.
I looked thru my old pics to see if I could find one but couldn't. So I've substituted this one for illustration purposes.
Talk about a creepy vibe and the basis for a creepy backstory.
Once upon a time, a couple lived there and had hopes of raising a big family. But as life on the island wasn't hard enough, the mother went into premature labor.
Despite all the efforts of the midwife, the child was delivered stillborn and the mother died soon thereafter due to post labor complications. The husband overcome with grief blames the midwife for the death of child and wife. And if a fit of anger strangles her to death. Consumed by the guilt of murdering the midwife and unable to cope with the loss of his first born and spouse, the husband tragically takes his own life when he turns his revolver on himself. You can imagine what kinda ghosts and spirits are roaming around up there.
Specially if you're slowly going insane due to extreme isolation.I didn't like staying up there back when the crib was there, it just always creeped me out and after playing Episode 3 where you find out Molly has the corpse of her recently deceased husband stashed down in the basement.
That house is probably now full of focused and half formed repeating Class III and Class IV free floating vapors...
Who you gonna call?
Enjoyed reading the disturbing history of the place, kind of glad they renovated the farmhouse; not keen on waking to a crib rocking in the dead of night 😬
Still, despite the creaking and groaning of the old house, it still feels quite homely ... At least through the day 😱😄

I'd probably expand one of the cabins up in Bear Creek Campground off of Coastal Highway (which is my favorite region by far), or I'd rebuild the Lonely Homestead in Pleasant Valley - I love the birch woods there, they are just so pretty.
Lonely Homestead would be perfect, I recently built a snow shelter in the birch woods as I find walking through that area rather enchanting. I only lasted four days, mind, due to the horrendous blizzards 🙄😄 Marsh Ridge, too, waking up to the muted, misty golden glow of the Muskeg 😻

Haha thank you, and great idea! We'll have all of those pesky wolves trained in no time!
Imagine a pack of timberwolves just pulling you onwards, chasing the deer meat on a fishing pole. Now that's one way to fast travel around the map!
Haha! 🤣 Sounds both exhilarating and absolutely terrifying in equal measure 😂👍 Mind you, as long as they're not chasing me for once I'm happy 😻

A lead and harness! So you could attach it to your nearest friendly-ish wolf and take it home with you.
Although since you can't tame them, you'd definitely have your hands full
Maybe, if you got enough leads and harnesses, especially on stalker, you could get a sled and attach the wolves to it so they could pull you along like huskies! Now that's what I call a realistic survival experience
Love this 🤣 Guess you could dangle a dead deer on a fishing pole over their heads to spur them forward 😜
I'm wondering if a shaman's hut on Marsh Ridge would be viable. Could be, that if you deliver various mushrooms and herbs he gives you upgrades for a bicycle 🤦👍 Of course, you'd have to first locate and dredge the bicycle from Forlorn Muskeg, using the new metal detector tool he provides you with 🤔

This is what gives TLD (or a future game like it) so much potential for thriller / horror-type accents. Anything out of place after playing for so long seems instantly threatening.
I woke up in the Mystery Lake Camp office during the aurora, and for a second I thought I saw, through the upstairs railing, someone quietly moving down in the area with the notebook PC. I think I swore out loud, but of course it was just my imagination.
Haha! Amazing how the mind plays tricks. That would have unsettled me no end. I completely agree with you, would love random ambient sounds like a distant scream or footsteps outside a building you're in. Extremely rare but enough to give you food for thought.

After two in-game weeks away from the farmhouse, I returned to see smoke coming from the chimney. I was literally staggered ... Especially when I entered (rifle drawn) to see no fires burning within. After 730 days of isolation, amazing how freaked out I actually felt 😄
