  1. @casper613 I thought this had been fixed. Like you it has driven me nuts. I put the game down for a few months. Then an update dropped for Xbox in december or january and all of a sudden I am getting the intended audio in relation to wind. Ironically, I now have intermittent silent auroa's. transistioning (any type) however seems to fix it. I have not made it to the new zone of contamination. My current stalker save is 230 days and I just finished repairing all the transmitters. If I get to ZoC and there are silent blizzards again...I don't even want to specualte how mad I'll be. Are you getting wrong wind audio across all regions? Is your save older than the most recent update on PC?

  2. Revolver under crate at preppers abandoned cache in Pleasant Valley. (The cache that is always present, next to the climb to get into Timberwolf Mtn.)
Snowpants under crate at the crash site for the start episode 1. (survival mode)

Reloading this morning seems to have fixed it ...so far.

thats an older bug that drives me crazy. You will need to restart the game to fix. Just going back to the main menu is not enough. It is triggered when you have one of those pages open (cairn location etc) and tab to the right or left. To make this not happen you need to make sure you back out of those little menus (B button on xbox) and then tab left or right.

I'm sure you're aware but thought I would point it out anyways - aurorae can occur anytime at night.  I've seen some start early morning, so unless you're staying up all night or sleeping in 1-2 hour increments, you may miss it.

Thanks for the thought. My 44 day playthough was made specifically for figuring out if auroras are bugged for me or something else. Alas, I adjusted my sleep schedule to stay up all night. I am positive I have not missed one. Now granted,  the weather on Stalker is pretty bad. Lots of snowy nights and blizzards. That being said, I really doubt DEV's want you to play 44 in-game days without an aurora. I made a custom playthrough with Stalker settings but bumped the aurora frequency from medium to high. That playthrough has experienced an aurora almost every clear night. So maybe I really do have terrible luck with my 44 day file, or my 214 day voyager run that took me to this thread in the first place. Hopefully I can get some clarification from the Dev's once the see my ticket.

That sounds just like mine... But I put it down to the lousy weather on stalker..

I was thinking the weather was part of the problem too, but I can't envision the Dev's wanting players to go such an extended period of time with no Aurora. 44 days in-game is a significant amount of real-world play time.

  6. I started a new stalker survival mode. I was encouraged when there was an Aurora on night one. Unfortunately it has been 44 days and not one more. I suspect I am still suffering from some sort of glitch.

  7. I have the same issue with aurora's not appearing in any region. I too took a hiatus but much more recently. I played ep 4 twice and then put the game down. I started playing again 2 days before the patch on sept 9th (?) I'm on Xbox

  8. Navigation: Compass (self explanatory)

Constellations: Don't need the whole nights sky mapped out, but Big Dipper and Orion would be extremely helpful. Jupiter Venus Saturn and Mars would enhance that.

Body Temp: Player required to shed some layers when it feels like 104 degrees inside the cabin with a fire.

Sweat Mechanic: Elevated body temp (being inside when its hot, or sprinting too frequently) causes clothing to get wet. Could add hypothermia risk too.

Flashlight: Batteries retain charge for 48 hours after and aurora. Currently I don't bother carrying it around. Ever.

Crosshair: Always on option, helps when trying to point autorun and hitting my vape at the same time.

Firewood Axe: Bigger limbs, better payout

Branches: it should not take 15 minutes to break down to sticks
