the huntable wildlife provides more than enough calories to sustain a player quite nicely for many days if not weeks at time.

Yes BUT i was talking about the first forge of the run so that's not really possible. And for the later forges, i would still choose BR if i have already been DP, but if i havent  i might just go and loot what i can find and get some coal.

  2. My favourite spot is BR for sure. I played stalker before and now playing on interloper, tried all the forges and i think the best is the one in BR.

You only need to bring hacksaw, hammer, some food and 4 chunks of coal if you want to use minimum amount of coal. bringing coal should not be a problem since you just always carry coal with you (at least i do) on interloper. For the wolves, i either have a torch in my hand from the last stop to warm up myself and teas, if not that i always carry a flare or two if the wind blows away my torch and a wolf sees me, so i use a flare to get in. Once youre in there, you can get as many reclaimed wood or scrap metal as you want for the first forge. + there is an outdoor but warm bed for you to sleep (if the weather is ok) to avoid getting Cabin Fever.

The problem with the FM is that you also have to carry all that scrap to there. Yeah, i definitely dont want to do that.

For DP, i genuinely dont like there since there is so limited amount of loot and at the corner of the map. Yes you will get ton of coal but still the loot is trash and there is no food like BR or FM.

  3. btw, do you guys have any idea why the first timberwolf pack was coming at me? as i said i wasnt walking, running or carrying meat. i was walking while crouched and there is no way for them to hear me before i was crouched and they still did come at me like i was carrying a piece of meat. there was only wind hitting from my back. can that cause t-wolves to smell you or something?

  4. yeah, i am pretty nervous around them too. i did not really dealt with them before so i think its normal. right now i decided not to stay at the cannery to open it when aurora hits, cuz there is like nothing inside that i need right now, so it can wait. i can go there if i want to open the workshop and deal with that nonsense. since this happens only at the cannery (for now), if i just not stay there it'll be fine i think. and at the end if i feel like it's too much, for the next run i can use a setting that changes the possibility for a timberwolf pack to spawn. i can work my way around with that, u can check that too.

  5. so yesterday, i was trying to get in to the cannerary in Bleak Inlet. A pack of timberwolves started coming to me (idk why, didnt have meat on me, wasnot walking or running) at the end of the bridge. killed them. got in to cannerary looted cars and started the parkour. when i got to the ship there was already an another pack spawned in. killed them and cooked some meat and slept. restarted the parkour and when i finished it there was already an another pack. they already took 2 of my arrows, how many times do i need to take care of these packs to easily loot the area? even if its stalker, it feels a BIT too much. kinda frustrated right now.

Let me know if this is in the wrong thread but I would appreciate some advice.

I'm trying to last longer in TLD (vanilla stalker) but after 30 days or so, I get bored. I don't even know why.

I see people with 1000+ days and I'd love to know their secrets.

Anybody else struggle with longish term survival, and what can I do to keep with a save for longer? Any personal challenges, etc, would be appreciated. Thanks :)

hello! i know exactly what you are talking about cuz i had the same feeling before. after looting the summit, there is nothing  you can find in the world thats actually an upgrade and you have TONS of manmade food (like granola bars, MRE's, canned food etc.) that you dont even worry about being hungry. at this point you can try to play in interloper (which will solve all these problems ;) ) or you can do what i did and make a challenge for yourself. my challenge is this, you start a new game with custom, pick the stalker settings then  max up the hunger and thirst . you can only pick 3 badges ( or less if u want it to be more challenging) and i recommend you to not pick the badge that reduce the hunger  and you are not allowed to eat manmade food. you can only eat cattails, meat and fish. personally i dont want to carry around extra 5 kgs to have a rifle so i use bow and that makes everthing more spiced. with these challenges i wander around and learn every corner of the maps. it is definitely much more fun like this.

  7. this is my gpu and cpu. i can't get more than 30 FPS at outside, mostly 22-20, with the LOWEST graphics possible. my desktop resolution is 1920x1080 but i use 1152x648 in game(its the lowest resolution that i can get full screen). i watched lots of videos that can help me to get higher FPS, but this is the max i can get. i even get like 17 FPS when it's windy sometimes. is it normal? do i need a younger dinosaur GPU?

  8. i think you should explore the game on your own a little bit. checking the forums after struggling with something over and over or being curious about something is what i would suggest.
