Nobody has any issues with auroras? Is this a bug or an expectation of Nomad? Should I just sleep 1 hour at a time for 30 days? At which point would you confidently say "Yea I'm not getting an aurora"?

So I'm playing the nomad challenge and I'm over checking out Bleak Inlet when I realized that in my 290 days I've never seen an aurora so what are the chances I will see one in Bleak Inlet? I've been here 15 days and I'm feeling a little silly sleeping 1 hour at a time every night to try and summon up something I've never had happen before.
