That actually looks quite sweet..     wake up bunny

I can assure you she is just making sure it's dead... claw marks all over the monitor!  I think TLD it the ultimate game for moggies- fish, rabbits, ptarmigans, nice warm fires, dogs running away yelping.  Throw in big cougars mauling humans, it's the game of their dreams.

  2. HEY HEY HEY!  just reloaded (thanks Leeanda for persuading me to give it one more go) and I was in normal stance and walked right out). phew!

Hopefully at some point the container position can be nudged slightly so less likely to get stuck.

  3. thanks for the suggestions- I saved though as I tried to use the bedroll to see if i would wake up in a different position.

Oh well, I usually start a new go when there's a new update, hopefully won't be waiting too long!

I've noticed that but I can usually get out if I crouch and wriggle about a bit.

I will give it another go! spent 10 min already though without any luck.  I am crouching already, btw, and it won't let me stand.  presume this is because I am underneath the lamp.  Which I also cannot harvest to make more room.

  5. Paradise Meadows farmhouse- there is a bug where you can be stuck if you go past the blue container on the floor next to the fridge, in order to try and see if anything is in the partially open lower fridge compartment.

    Bug report submitted.

  6. Great Question

Carcass Harvesting: 1 (I've quartered, though not skinned, a rabbit, and I know you need to get the guts out early doors)

Cooking: 4 (VHK's #1 rule of cooking- always keep a spare tin of beans in reserve in case you mess it all up!)

Fishing: 1 (haven't fished for about 30 years. 1st fish I caught ended up in a tree as Dad hadn't taught me how the reel worked)

Sewing: 1 (if indoors, near a fire and I've found some good gloves, I have atrocious circulation in my hands)

Fire Starting: 2 (I've managed to make fire without a match or lighter before, and I have seen several Ray Mears/ primitive tech videos for extra skill points)

Gunsmithing: 0 (it either wouldn't explode at all, or it would REALLY explode)

Rifle Firearm: 0 (I'd be a danger to myself rather than any target)

    Revolver Firearm: 0 (ditto)

Archery: 1 (pointy end at the front, feathers at the back)

    Sounds amazing 😋.

Mustard might be a bit too sharp... wouldn't it overpower the flavor?

depends on the mustard- I'd go for a dijon for this.  Also don't scrimp on the cream, and consider a generous splash of cider to the pot...

Does it taste good on toast?  Or in tea?    I'm on a very basic diet at the moment..

If you can manage carrots and/or parsnips, then roasting them with maple syrup is incredible.

  9. Not seeing anything there that wouldn't fit the TLD world as we know it so far, also seems to be during a power outage (but with some use for electrical items such as the radio and microwave) so would appear to fit the aurora scenario.

Also hope that playing 'Moonlight Sonata' on the piano will open a hidden room...

wow- such a lot of work there.  Especially pleased to hear this:

ADJUSTED REQUIREMENTS TO START ‘BURIED ECHOES’ TALE

Players no longer need to complete SIGNAL VOID in the same run as they intend to attempt BURIED ECHOES. Instead, so long as you’ve completed SIGNAL VOID in another Survival game – and obtained the Badge for completing it – you can begin BURIED ECHOES in any new or existing run.

I can bumble about between tales now!

Thanks for all your efforts, and to everyone who took the time to fill out bug reports.

went back to my signal void/buried echoes save, hit a 20 hr blizzard in FA, then got eaten by a wolf as I headed to the safety of a fishing hut.  I hate love you Hinterland 😄

  12. Thanks for the comments and the great link :) I found my duffle coat, and after 17 days I felt as ready as I ever would be, so I said farewell to the supply ship, and began the depot-ing.  From this point on, apart from stones the only items I can interact with are what is at base camp, or that I am carrying or have depot'd.

I think I have also inadvertently put the calorie setting a bit easier than I usually play, so I'm definitely going no deer meat, only jerky, but will tweak this if I try again.

First depot run was to just inside ML.  Only real hiccup was an invisible barrier for the travois in the central ravine rail tunnel.

As an aside, I'm all the more convinced from what I've done so far that it would be possible with a few mods such as reskinning existing items in the game, and removing trees and buildings from the maps, to make this really close to being a 'realistic' experience.

  13. Getting there- gonna craft some deerskin boots.  Finding wool longjohns via beach combing was a massive win.  I seem to have messed up custom settings, no bunnies or pigeons, so I'm going to allow myself wool mittens.  10 days of 'prep' left, I may try a final run to ML to look for the elusive old fashioned parka.  I've been reading up on Amundsen and apparently wolfskin clothing was a thing, so may allow that in future.  Hopefully i have enough food and coal looted know, still mulling over whether to use deer meat or not, would be a good substitute for the seal meat that was depot'd at the time.

  14. I'm toying with the idea of going for jerky only, rather than deer meat, given how much I've found on the high loot setting.  I've found 3 maples and a deer carcass, so on track for the travois.  A cave run should see me ok for coal too.  Could do with some boots,  gloves and a better hat though, and I'm desperate to find the old parka and fisherman's sweater, they will look great.  I'm not minding this bit too much, but it would be great to fully customise your starting clothes/gear.
