  1. Talking revolver again. Sorry to open a can of... The wiki says it's closest to a S&W model 27. With low stopping power I'm guessing it's the 38 special variant.

Why then do my spent casings drop on the ground after each shot? It's a wheel gun -- not a semi-auto pistol.

Also it's 1.5kg, which is 50 percent heaver than the model 27. I understand hinterland is canadian, and firearms are not as plentiful in the GWN... However these facts lead me to believe the devs don't have first hand experience with the revolver.

Ideas? Or perhaps I'm picking the nits... Just curious what other people think.

    Stay safe!

  2. I'm on Xbox one, so this may not apply to PC people.

I did the 5gig update today. Played for 2 hours in survival. Mystery Lake to Ravine and as soon as I get to Costal... Blam. Game crashed.

I reload and... guess what? Everything I did today is lost. I'm back in ML, as if never loaded the game. I've reported to technical support.

Not the end of the world, but I was wondering if anyone else is getting the hard crash with the new update?

  3. Dunno if this is a technical issue or not. Since the patch, dropped decoys just go poof -- disappear. I did a few tries with rabbit carcasses and more with fresh guts. Both dropped between 30-50 feet from the wolf, and poof. Gone. I'm on Xbox, so it may be platform singular.

    Anyone else experience this?

  4. Large_Bear_Trap.pngIf you had a bow, you'd never go after a bear with a spear. You'd be better off falling on it instead. A bear is 300 pounds of mean, grumpy claws.

We've got snares, why can't we make a simple claw trap?

  5. IMG-20191026-130301.jpgI'll tried it on a wolf, pointed it at him and turned it on. Didn't even slow him down. Got attacked, blood loss, etc. Thank you for the tips, however the new patch may have changed the wolf behavior. I noticed dropping bait makes them run most of the time. Anyone else have similar experiences?

  6. Flashlight_icon.pngNoob, 1st game, Voyageur. Day 195. I just got done looting Milton. Question about the flashlight. Does anyone use it?

It only works during the northern lights, I understand. However if you've got the Aurora, you can read, craft, etc. What good is it? Do people use it to hunt? Just curious. Thanks.

  7. I'm an Xbox one player and I get stuttering graphics every time the wind blows and/or the snow is falling heavy. I turn my character and the game does a full stop trying to catch up. Dunno if this is Xbox exclusive or other people get this on PC as well. It's cost me wolf attack encounters more than once.

  8. Day 175, Voyageur, first game noob, first time in Milton. Damn. The wolves don't even look at bait anymore. You can hear them come around corners, over snow, etc. And they're running in full attack mode. Shooting them doesn't even slow them down. And I'm level 5 with the rifle. I know the game wants to kill you by now, but come on. Really?

    I'll have to adjust.

  9. Agreed. In game behavior supposedly was adjusted to make the pistol less powerful. Which in turn makes the rifle more potent. Makes sense.

However I was looking at the round itself. To me it looks like the .45 long Colt of the old west. It was a black powder round back then. Less powerful for sure.

The .357 with modern smokeless powder packs much more punch.

  10. I'm a noob, and have not been to every region, but I like Coastal. It's open and easier to see prey. Plus I like the outdoor crafting.

Forlorn is too harsh and ML is nice but not too much to do. I'm exploring Milton now. PV seems okay, but I've had bad weather there. Also the region with the Riken was good...got my first moose near the church.
