  1. I just bought a nintendo swich so i can play some animal crossing but then i remembered that a switch version of the long dark is coming out and im really hyped. I would love to get some news on a release date sometime soon.

  2. I never though about this but wouldn't 3rd person be cool for the long dark. I realize that its pretty unrealistic because of all the animations that would needed to be made and the player models and stuff. But having the long dark but kinda like red dead redemption would be really cool.

  3. I sadly haven't even finished the 2nd chapter of the long dark. I got back into the game a while back and started my longest survival game yet but since then I haven't been playing. Mostly because of the release of a few games mostly the Xbox release of Stranded Deep.

Something to force you to be outside.

Well the long dark isn't a game about "You do this and you go here" its about you make the decisions if its bad its bad if its good its good.

  5. With all this excitement of chapter threes release during the same month as 4DON it seems like a lot of activeness after a long period of silence. And during that period the world of the long dark never felt so lonely. Last year in the 4DON it was my first year to participate in it because the year before last Xbox was excluded from the event. But last year I played one or two days and received the least hard badge to get I think it was the midnight badge maybe.

How can you all not see the obvious? 'Wintermute' is a codename for the zombie apocalypse. And what's in the case? Come on! The virus! Astrid has been working in a top-secret US biologic weapons development facility, and there she stole the virus. Hence "no questions"! Jeremiah is the crazed mastermind behind it all. Like those Italian Mafia bosses, he is steering all his minions from his inconspicuous hut in the forest. The bear thing was all set up - Jeremiah could snap the neck of a bear with one hand. As soon as Will leaves on one of his errands, Jeremiah bursts out laughing in his hut, cackling things like, "Muahahahaaa... go get me some fish! Go get me some hides! Learn to sew! Learn to knit! Learn to wipe your ass with rabbits! Muahahaa! And there he goes. doing it, learning it, all with the case containing the end of the world in his stupid hands! Muaaaahahahaaaa! Oh, Will McKenzie! The day that case will finally be opened you will be banging your empty head against the wall! Muaaaaaaahahahahaaa..."

That is a hilarious theory but I don't think its a valid one.

  7. They change that to make it where he doesn't have it hidden anymore and it becomes a big quest item in that chapter and I don't think we will be seeing him again but I guarantee you there will be reference to him later in the game. I definitely thing Wintermute refers to some way to stop the quiet apocalypse. And I don't think any of them were ecoterrorist.

This isn't a survival story..sadly it's the opposite.  This guy I work with lives 30 minutes away in another town, and he came upon an accident on the highway on the way home 3 years back.  A woman's car had crunched up from the impact, jamming the doors shut and pinning her legs between the dashboard and seat. And she was unconscious too, which it turns out was probably for the best.  A small fire had broken out, and he and some others who had stopped tried to pull her out through the window, but she was pinned too tightly.  The fire spread too quickly, and they had no choice but to back away leave her.  The car was fully engulfed by the time police and fire arrived.  It would have been a survivable accident if that fire had been stopped early.

So that story convinced me to start carrying a fire extinguisher in my car at all times.  And that was the beginning of what turned into a full emergency/survival kit that lives in the boot of my car.  Now besides the fire extinguisher I've got a seat belt cutter, road flares, first aid kit, fire starter, shovel, hatchet, knife, fire striker, windproof matches, tinder box, couple MRE's, water sterilization tablets, charcoal filter.  Bunch of other stuff too.  It's basically a cross between a bug-out-bag and a roadside emergency kit packed into a Rubbermaid bin.  I haven't needed any of it for an actual emergency yet, and I hope I never do.  But if that time comes, hopefully that one tragedy can help prevent another.

Wow looks like someones ready for the (quite) apocolapse 😉

It seems to be really rare.  I did find one under Gray Mother's bed in MT when I started in that zone.  I started another file in ML and didn't find one at all after a thorough search of the entire zone and I had basically given up.  I did, however, eventually find it in the prepper cache.  I'm not sure yet, but I think it is possibly as rare as the flare gun... maybe even only one spawns per game.

That sucks I hoped it would be as common as the rifle not that the rifle is common but it is still more common than the flare gun. Oh well, I was planning to head down and search Desolation Point and then Mystery Lake. Then maybe Milton.
