Bow-Making Confusion

It's not clear when making a bow that it's something that will take time, and it appears in inventory immediately, giving the impression that it's ready. It's the first thing I crafted that had stages, so I left my found (low-condition) bow behind and went out hunting. Fortunately, before I encountered a wolf, I tried to equip the bow and eventually noticed it was 0.0kg and sort of greyed-out. I had also made boots, and don't remember those showing in my inventory before they were complete. If they did, it seems like they should at least be name differently (Incomplete Bow?) to make it a little more clear.

This is a good idea The simple name change would be helpful. Then again, I bet its a mistake you only make once

I was a bit muddled first time I crafted a pair of boots and pants, also noticed that the materials remain in your inventory until they are completed.
