Less focus on background, more focus on info/text being displayed. I play on a 60" and a 40" monitor, so on the smaller monitor this is really apparent.

There is another screen I've seen that is similar, but with end game stats, make it a reward, not struggle to see text/info.

Also, while posting, I wish to god there was a way to view my player health stats, cold. hunger, thirst, endurance. I know, I know, you all are going for immersion and don't want health bars on screen, but stopping everything to bring up the stats screen kills the immersion. If I could just press a button and see four little bars while moving......
