Lost save game

I was recently playing, and have now lost my save game. There is nothing in the folder save001. I had to exit the game last time in a hurry, so i opened the desktop and quit the game from there. I was leaving the Camp Office, and there was no wolf or bear in sight.

Was this a game you just started or something that you had played for awhile? If its an game you have played for awhile verifying your cache may bring back lost files. In steam, left click on the Long Dark, select Properties, click the tab "Local Files" and press "verify integrity of game Cache". Let me know if that works!

Thanks for your suggestion. However, no such luck. It was about a 35 day game. I am mostly disappointed since I had just crafted a wolf skin coat.
