CandyRacks
The ballistic vest willnot only protect you condition wise, but has a chance to save you from cougars severe laceration affliction! bThat is extremely useful outcome as this affliction can still be your death even if you win the fight itself. Here is my capture of this

K3V038
I watched some vids on YouTube and did a bit of lurking here and there, along with some tests. I think the cougar deals a set ammount of damage every time, dependjng on your settings for condition loss during struggles. A dude with ski shoes, combat pants, etc etc fought it and it dealt the same damage to the guy that only had basic cloth clothes on. The protection% meter only affects if you get deep lacerations or not im pretty sure
Veskaida Posted yesterday at 05:46 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:46 AM Be careful about save files where your character was wearing the Ballistic Vest during a Cougar Struggle! There is currently a bug with it (even on 2.30 with the Cougar disabled) with "Severe Lacerations" and the Ballistic Vest, which results in Severe Lacerations being "stored" on the player (potentially for many in-game days) until the player removes their Ballistic Vest and is afflicted with Blood Loss (e.g. a Wolf struggle): when this happens Severe Lacerations will appear alongside the other source of Blood Loss. This can be extremely dangerous, but once the Severe Lacerations is applied (and dealt with) it should no longer be an issue since Cougars cannot spawn currently.
