Game save wiped after update?

We don't directly control the data on your Xbox as it's cloud based and managed by the Xbox, we simply ask for the data and tell the system when we have new data that it needs to upload. It sounds like it's not syncing correctly, you can force a sync by powering down your Xbox, unplugging it then restarting. You should see a sync message when you launch the game and sign in with your user.
