Unless its muzzle loader, which can replace normal bolt action on higher difficulties (like low level of item spawn), with hand crafted paper cartridges, shotguns have no point. They could serve as selfdefence weapon, but they would be very effective, so revolver would be almost useless.

long dark is succesfull because of art style. Photo realistic sequel would not catch me.

shotgun just for birds is pretty useless.
Rather homemade shotgun cartridges for flare gun.

Its not a scope. Its just rear section of bolt.
Also why not rifle on Loper? You sawn off broken part of barrel and get bolt action pistol. Its like revolver, but much slower. With limited casings to produce limited number of ammo, it would be cool, you cannot fire accuratelly, so its limited. Like 5 casings per map, will get 5 shots ready, unles run out of chemicals and/or lead. Bow is still more important.

I like this but question, does it really need the battery? I say this because the car lights and radios work even after you remove the car battery. As long as there is an Aurora active then power works with or without a battery. Everything can be unplugged during an Aurora and it will still be powered, kinda like how the massive geomagnetic storm that occurred in real life on September 2, 1859 (the Aurora could be seen as far south as the equator during this storm). There wasn't much electrical items back then but the telegraph existed and it worked during that Storm, even after being unplugged (it did cause the telegram poles to short and spark so they had to disconnect them to save the equipment) During this storm they were able to send a telegram across continents. The air itself pretty much became the cable and the suns energized particles ionized the air and powered the telegraph while disconnected. This was called "Auroral Current''. If you don't know, the telegraph wasn't wireless. Each one had to be connected through a network of cables and these cables didn't cross the ocean. These cables is how the information traveled to the various telegraph offices in a specific country.
Battery, because of flashlight. Aurora recharges it, just like in flashlight so bell can work.

Its easy. Alarm clock could have animated big button on top (pressed - off, popped up on, default is off, so unless you activate it, its quiet). When turned on, it will beep when aurora is present and it interrupts sleep.
Like DIY device: Simple circuit with battery, on-off switch and old electric bell. It rings, when aurora is present. You can kill it with switch.

If implemented, it should be quick animation, cuz you are eating every time.

I am very curious how you make particl effect of glowing snow, how you control it, thru simulated sun rays (you should see it in real time, simple increasing affliction indicator during the day it looks like more stupid cabin fever and it would be totally lazy implementation).
Also, it could work on Timberwolf top, but in low areas, its almost every day pretty cloudy anyway.
So i am not interested.

Whats the point? Rate of fire will be based on animation of bolt cycle, so you cannot get any advantage. Except you click and press button.
Its just detail, understable (a few games use this mechanic), but hardly important.

Indoor locations are separate levels. Its core of the game. Never happen. Also its quick load, if it annoys you, then you have potato computer, or something wrong with game compatibility.
Also when you make indoor location as part of whole level, its hard to edit and its more expensive for computing power.
Keep as it is. Removing quick load is worthless of effort.

Snow in the Long Dark isnt reflexive, so this mechanic is pointless anyway.

Rather implement thermos, so you can warm up yourself when on trip. Before hunt, you sip a hot tee, and your aim will be steady AF.

Yes. And give us oppurtunity to use tinder as fuel (1 min of fire is enough) to get rid of abundance.

Long dark is in universe where is realp hysics is no applied. Conservation of mass? Pfff.

I would like to get an option to turn off dead bodies in Custom settings.
And also amount of bodies should be determined by difficulty. On Loper, very scarce.
-
I saw very nice NEW models of trees and other stuff (bodies) in the new region, however didnt notice it in old maps. Should be this update transfered into old regions?
-
Smaller trees would mistake players to try harvest it. if true, you will have a ton of wood. Broken balance.
-
submachine guns are useless, bring good old FAL xD
Find old broken FN FAL in Blackrock facility, just as harvestable item, would be meme.

Well if its a DLC no one would force you to buy it so what's the problem?
I love LD as is but no harm in other modes to keep it interesting. Personally I have zero interest in that Halloween mode we just had so I just didn't play it.
Its problem, because devs will waste time and resources for stupid thing, which wont be popular and its in contradiction with devs views. I dare you.
-
Nah, devs will invest time into usefull things, not into mainstream cancer.

Well you can use normal can:
It can burn either fire accelereant or sticks.
-
Exactly, also devs would never buy another server managing all of this.
Rather make new loot tables, you can simulate left overs from survivors with that too.
Items that would be cool/useful

I really believed that Orion flare gun is 12 gauge. They are not available here in Europe, we use normal 26.5 mm signal pistols.
