    The main idea of this route is to gather all the items except wood and at the end actually chop the rest. 

    The reclaimed wood is critical (we need to find 24 of those) as the planks that give 6 take only 30 minutes. (if needed the 8minute boxes are a good source as well (The one I chopped in the trailer for example )

    The whole run gets a little grindy at this point because of how many random elements can influence it.

    I try to maximize my chances by:

    a) looking into mailboxes for rifle amunition (actually 0 found in the run above ;) )

    b) Utilize the beachcombing mechanic for some extra wood/reclaimed wood

    c) Harvesting clothes for bandages/brewing coffe during the run to maximize stamina recovery while doing it

    d) Not harvesting anything for tinder

    Additionally I try to visit all the fishing huts to maximize wood/rifle cartridge chances (but maybe the route can be optimized as well)

    Despite achieving a time below 15 the run was not the best, mainly due to poor wind and 1 reclaimed wood missing (I needed to go all the way up to the mine enterence to collect it). Below find a screenshot where a theoretical sub 14 was possible (given 20 minutes of harvesting bandages + 4 minutes inventory management) it would be around 13:40. But sadly 1 rifle cartridge and 1 Hardwood was missing.20201015205410_1.thumb.jpg.8831d399d26cd848efe431e5048a70a7.jpg

    I grinded this for the last month and I am getting tired of this repetetive task :) Hope that this post will encourage someone to pick up the torch (keyboard) and go for a sub 14 record:)

  2. This one was 5 stims, I really like the route I finally found but well its over now.

    BTW the previous one (the 9:01) was with 6 stims and sub - optimal routing heh

    I also did a no stim 9:49 run (was wondering if this might be more fair since with stims its so much luck dependend). But then you need luck for coffee so it does not solve the issue...

    Also trying to go for the Deadman challange (no speedrun though lol :) ) I managed to visit Broken Railroad so far and found an improvised hatchet and a hacksaw, no luck with the hammer so no forging for me. But I found 1 stim (!) (thought those were disabled in this challange ). Lets see how it goes.

    Well I never learned how to do this whole out of bounds mountain runs :) so my best is around 18:54. Thats why I like this exploit so much :D

    When it comes to the Bear in CH it is almost always there for me too but I just run past it and/or use the Flare Gun to scare it away.

    Wonder if sub 10 is possible 🤔

    Nah I dont even record them. Just started running this challange recently. I added my route in PV to the map below:

    I must have been quite fast as I did not do the skip in Desolation Point but just ran around after exiting the mine :)

    Also not sure about my route in CH, I ran like that.

    I am new to the Community, created an account just for this topic:)

    1. I think they disabled the spawns for FP other than TimberWolf but did not update it after Episode 3 was released.

    3. I am very pleased with this exploit as as Lohaan mentioned it feels like an update and new strategies become viable. (Currently considering a skip of the Camp office in ML as the Recycled Cans are not really needed that much, you can brew 4 coffees at signal hill and 4-8 (if you have that much) in PV Farmstead.

    4. Not sure but I think that stamina recharges faster when you are more rested, therefore drinking like 10 coffees at once maybe a viable strategy as well.

    5. Would love to see more challanges like this one. Imagine the possibility of different runs :)
