I feel like if nothing else could be made clothes wise, then having the options as we already do in sandbox augmenting wildlife. Selecting the option to have a cougar actively stalk or harrass you would be a thrilling or annoying option to add more difficulty.

I second the glow sticks, early play thru could be so beneficial to skill buff thru reading and cave exploration. Would add a few different colors kinda like the soda reskins 

I could imagine OC spray, probably useful for wildlife deterrence. Or flat out bear spray.

Adding a henry survival rifle in a downed plane would be nice 22lr plus a new wildlife like grouse to use it specifically on or new varmint. Then using the new meat and new craft item of sturdy hook and sturdy fishing line make a sturdy tackle to catch a larger species of fish. And also and a salt bag and salt cure method for said fish, obvious draw back of thirst depletion be 3 fold
