As it turns out, it was a visual glitch. I got back in there with my lantern tonight and it's fine. I don't know what happened, but... Okay!

So I got to the mine. It's dark in there, nbd, I have about 50 tons of lamp oil. Except I light my lantern and everything fuzzes out and gets too hazy to see. Flares work, matches work (frustratingly), it's just my lantern. I had to stop playing tonight because it was just unplayable. All the videos I see, there's that distortion when you get to lower levels or whatever, but lighting the lantern is clear. On my screen it looks like there's just a thick fog and I can't even see the floor or anything around me. I couldn't get to the elevator with it. How are other people getting it clearer?

The Long Dark is definitely my comfort game and I've absolutely lost myself in the quiet apocalypse this year. (Is it still this year? How is that possible?) Working from home is a whole thing. I hope Team Hinterland continues to stay healthy!

Just got done with episode three. Definitely my favorite, by far. At first I was kind of wondering what Molly's whole deal was, like why she would lock you in and then basically lock you out, but it all made sense by the end. I liked that there were different ways of dealing with the timberwolves. Some of the missions took a bit of puzzling out (omg where's the third fuse!) but not enough to make me  take a frustration break. It was nice to see some new content in a SUPER FAMILIAR zone!

And the cutscene at the end with the orcas was insane. What happened to them? And that definitely wasn't a recognizable part of Coastal Highway. Definitely looking forward to seeing what comes next!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH MAKESHIFT CLOTHING I'M SO EXCITED BY THIS!!!!! Finally a use for my 51 cloth...

Thanks for the update!  Really looking forward to seeing what's coming next in the game in both survival and story mode. (Which reminds me, I still need to finish getting through episode two)

I had a Long Dark dream last night where it was spring, which made everything start to thaw before the blizzard and there was a pile of sticks just outside the house I was staying in. I was set when the blizzard started.

I haven't done my two hours yet today, but I'll start it up after work. This was a lot of fun! Something new and different.
