  1. A little test of the rifle in 1.49: Rifle skills at 5, rifle condition 100%, rested, fed, and warm. All shots fired  when about a quarter of the aiming time-out had passed.

Standing about 15-20metres away, I aim at the centre of the "O" in the STOP sign. All hits are low, consistent with other similar tests.

Perhaps the reason for all the rifles to be found is that they are all whacked out of shape and considered useless by their owners?

The new aiming mechanic seems... off.

Just to be clear: the idea is to line up my target in BOTH levelled sights, right?

Yes, after several missed shots with the rifle, I made some target practice on a signpost. Well rested, and not cold, I could group the hits closely, but they were consistently below the aiming point, and hidden by the sights. At a distance of maybe 10 metres, the hits were about 10cm lower than expected.

  3. Got the Midnight badge, but was a little underwhelmed by a challenge setup that encourages camping - there should have been other objectives in stead of lasting two hours/day.

Day 1: Searched CH: Got a lot of candy bars and decent clothing. Went on to PV, and found my first cache between Outbuildings and Farmstead. Quit after entering Farmstead.
Day 2: Searched the Farmstead, then camped for two hours.
Day 3: Another two hours of camping, and then went to Radio Hut and found second cache nearby. Only had to shoot a single wolf on the way up there.
Day 4: Camped for two hours at Radio Hut without even lighting a fire! Got the badge and found a pie. Then walked back to the Farmstead, just to see if the weather was so nasty as they claimed. Had to stop halfway to light a fire, but made it and was warm and fine after an hour in bed. Got enough candy for another week.

Ok, nobody forced me to choose the boring camping strategy, but still it would be better if it had not been possible to get through that way.

*[Survival Mode] Fixed issues keeping Faithful Cartographer achievement from triggering.

    General Fixes

*[Both] Crows will no longer sometimes fly too low and into the ground as the weather changes.

Thanks for the patch, but so far things are not looking too good.
Only took a couple of minutes before I saw the first crows fly into the ground near the stone Church on Desolation Point.
And the Stone Church icon still fails to show up on my map, on a game started in the autumn (v1.15, I think). So still no Faithful Cartographer achievement without starting a new game.

  5. Great work, Timber Wolf!

At a quick glance, I get the impression that the differences between the averages you find are considerable from the sequence graphs, but insignificant from the column plots with average and standard deviation. This trick of the eye is due to that I am used to seeing such columns with error bars that indicate the uncertainty of the average, not the standard deviation of a single measurement. I think you could benefit from plotting what is known as "standard error of the mean" in stead of the estimate of the standard deviation. The standard error is the standard deviation divided by the square root of the number of samples. In this way you would exploit the often large number of samples to indicate that the uncertainty of the average value is reduced.

    See e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_error
