Epic Games Store won't sync cloud saves automatically

Every time I start the game, EGS tells me that it's detected a cloud sync conflict, even though I'm only playing the game on a single computer. As far as I can tell, it never manages to upload new saves automatically, but successfully does so every time after it's asked me to confirm that I want to upload the newer file. Has anyone got any tips for fixing this? Thanks in advance.
