Survivor bug?

I brought back Wade, my second survivor and it isn't updating my quest to return all three. This was my second one so it should be 2/3 but it is still reading 1/3. I dropped him on an empty bed but I cannot interact with him at all. Anyone run into this? Not sure what to do. He was alive.

So, I loaded a save, and this time I dropped him on a rug instead of the first bed on the left when you go inside. Now I can view his % and it seems normal. Now when I look at the journal it says 0/3 survivors returned to the community hall. 

 

Okay - nevermind. You have to drop them in the bed for it to update the quest. I missed that communication or  it wasn't clear.
