  1. 'Wolf Fear' tooltip states: "affects the chance that wolves will flee when detecting you, rather than hunting you." Yet, as is, both high and low options have wolves 'hunting you' above 90% of the time. The custom option would be great if it did more to address one of the most common critiques of the game - crazy wolves. Suggestion: High = like we are used to (about 95% engagement / 5% flee) Medium = 50% engagement / 50% flee Low = 5% engagement / 95% flee *Augmented (as already is?) by condition, scent, etc. & Howabout wolf aggression increases over time (low/med/high?). That seems realistic and interesting, and serves to offset the 'power creep' of the game. What say you, agree or disagree? [& btw, turning on 'passive wildlife' ain't the solution here. 100% safety is so much different than 95% -- as evidenced in real life fear of wildlife.]
  2. Good evening, -Windows -I've just bought the game, and I can't use the fire menue ! I have tried on all the missions, all the difficulties... It's very embarasting because I can't boil water and the game is blocked.
  3. when I get to the second day (day 2), I need to make a water, but i cant i take all from the place I make a bonfire but when i click on the bonfire I can't make there a water and I can't to the mission, what I supposed to do?!
  4. So, I've noticed that I'm losing arrows, not to vanishing into the terrain when they bounce off, but when they stick in the animal. I've shot 3 wolves with arrows, followed the bloodtrail to the corpse, and all 3 times the arrow was vanished. I suppose its possible this is still the terrain swallow, but I was quite close to the animal each time and didnt see a bounce. Any time Ive gotten a one shot kill the arrow was there and retrievable, but if it runs off and bleeds out, the arrow is lost.
  5. I bought the game in steam and the game starts to hang at the first boot. Update 1.34 hotfixed Spent a day fixing this problem and nothing helped): I'll be waiting for the fix.PC meets all the requirements of the game.
  6. Когда я подошел к еде Зверолова и нажал вместо взять, съесть на месте и репутация не ушла, с одной стороны хорошо, но как бы баг.
  7. Playing on PS4. Found a few bugs/issues so far after Vigilant Flame update and recent hotfix. Mystery Lake Camp Office is glitched and will not let me enter the building any longer. Crashes time after time even after sleeping or passing time for a few hours. First time I have ever experienced this. Prior to it totally glitching out it would crash as I was inside the camp office attempting to sleep, pass time, or do anything that involved a progress bar. I am on day 67 voyager playthrough and had to move on to mountain town losing a lot of gear I had stored at Camp Office. Level 4 Firearm has a spelling mistake in the word “critical”. Rifle has glitch when reloading again like it did a few updates ago. Looks as if you reload rounds right through the bolt even though it makes the sound like you pulled the bolt back on the rifle. Just a few bugs... has anyone else experienced these issues?
  8. So I just started playing the Vigilant Flame update and I seem to be unable to cook raw meat next to the fire. I have tried to place it next to the fire on the stones that you put the cans on, but no button appears saying "place" when I am looking at the raw meat in my radial menu. Do I need a cooking pot in order to cook meat on a fire? I have been able to melt water in the can with no issues also, so I am at a loss.
  9. Hi Hinterland guys! First of all, after being gone for a while, I would like to thank you again for this wonderful game and the love you clearly put into it I've come back to TLD mainly attracted by the new custom modes, which should in theory satisfy my own desires and save me from the little aspects of this game that annoyed me enough to stop playing it, back some months/years ago. I can't describe well enough how excited I was about that, but it turned out... Custom settings have pretty serious problems. What made me notice it is that I can't, for the life of me, make my game start in a blizzard. I could start a few at first, but now I just can't anymore. Every single time I ask to be put in a blizzard, I get put in a light fog. When I quit the game, and start a new custom mode, every setting is as I left it, except for starting weather, which is now light fog (100% of the times), and a couple other stats, namely wildlife detection range and wolf spawn distance. I've tested it out a bit everything indicates that those settings won't work as I wanted them too either. They rather work the way I find them when I quit and start again (close & close). But that's not the end of it. I'm pretty sure there are some other settings which are off too. Aside from the fact that the default setting for stalker is that wolf struggles does no condition damage (is that right?), but the fact is that if I keep the setting no condition damage, I actually get *insanely high* condition damage whenever I struggle with a wolf. And by insanely high I mean that at the start of the game I get killed by it from 100% condition before I can manage to reach even a third of the struggle bar. It's pretty... Insane, but most of all, it does not abide by the settings I put in. So... What's the deal with this? Are you guys aware of these problems? Are they being worked on? Cause that's the sole reason I got excited to play this game again after all this time... I wanna come back to it! But I can't with these issues to custom modes, the default ones all have some things which annoy me to no end...
  10. In the game when I enter most (almost all) buildings in the middle of the day I cant see at all. I was hoping a brightness option can be added so I can see. I dont want to waste any light source when its the middle of the day! Thank You, please add Brightness Option. I play on PS4 as well.
  11. Hi guys. I am in a survival session, just in pilgrim for now as I wanted to get used to the new update but I can't seem to walk past the top of the steps leading to the forestry lookout (not broken down lookout) at mystery lake. Its as if there is something in my way but there isn't. Anybody else had issues with this? Is it a known thing? Thanks in advance.
  12. I'm making this topic because I'd like to know what you guys think each map is good for, either it be for resources, living, hunting, crafting, or role playing. What is your opinion of each map? If I want to find saplings where should I go? If im out to get me some wolf skins where should I go? If im looking for a specific role playing envirnment where should i go. What do you guys think each map is known for??
  13. Hello! Since last month, I experienced a problem in the game, which makes me unable to play it. Every time I launch the game, the sound keeps tearing in the main menu (it also seems to load slower). I did try to start a game, thinking maybe it only occurs in the main menu, but sadly, it happens in the game as well. It highly limits the things I can hear in the game, and makes it unplayable. I've been playing it for like, 150 hrs on steam, had no such problem until recently. It also seems to have a problem when I try to quit the game, it just crashes, which again, never happened before. I tried what I can, rebooting, verifying integrity of game files..nothing. I did wait for an update, thinking its gonna fix the problem, but sadly, it didn't. Please, please, try to look into it. I really miss playing the game Thank you in advance. My specs: Win 7 CPU: Inter Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60 GHz RAM: 8 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
  14. This isn't a bug (or is it?) so I don't know where to post this but it would be nice to have these softlocks fixed. The weather started to get bad and I started rushing towards the old island connector. I tried to take a harmless looking shortcut but this is what happened: I tried jumping down to the road from this wooden fence but got stuck in a little hole between the fence and the ground. It was an early game and i didn't bother to load the game from the last save. Feelsbadman. I know there are a lot worse bugs in this game but it's still annoying to suddenly get stuck in a harmless and normal looking place.
  15. I've started playing TLD again for the first time in several months, and I seem to be permanently stuck with the cabin fever I developed when I last played the game. I've been spending days on end outside, and I sleep outside every night, sometimes just in the middle of an empty field, hoping that will finally get rid of it. But nope! No matter what I do, the cabin fever won't go away!! Is this a bug or am I just not doing something right??? Please advise!!
  16. Hello, I'm currently experiencing very strong lags when I turn the camera in The Long Dark. The game is perfectly fluid (even in highest graphics quality) when i play without using the camera, but as far as I try to turn it a little, my FPS are dropping a lot (from 60 to 5-6 fps), which makes the game unplayable. I run with a GTX 1080 + i7 7700K, with 16 GB of Ram DDR4, and my Nvidia drivers are up to date. So where can this problem come from ? Thank you for your anwsers
  17. Hey anybody, gear just seems to be disappearing outta thin air. for example, stashed the heavy hammer by the wall near the doorway by the furnace on the Riken. dropped some gut and two deer hides nearby to cure while I spend the next couple of ingame days gathering materials for upcoming forge crafting session. when I get back to the Riken, the hammer is gone. subsequently spent the next 4 ingame days looking for that hammer, nothing to be found anywhere. This isnt the first time stuff just vanishes, last playthrough it was all the unused arrow heads i had crafted... curious if this is possibly only related to custom setting gameplay? any ideas? anyone?
  18. I have the game on my Xbox One and every achievement was unlocking when I completed them. In a few days back I realized that the game is part of the Play Anywhere program so I downloaded the UWP version from the Microsoft store. While playing on PC I have completed the requirements for two achievements (Resolute Outfitter & Living off the land) but the achievements haven't unlocked. Then I tried playing the game on my Xbox to see if hitting a save point will unlock it but it's stayed locked. So synchronization is working because my save game was synced between my PC and Xbox but the achievements seem to be stuck. PS 1: there are at least two related issues: TLDP-5570 and TLDP-5502 but none of them has an answer. It would be nice to get some feedback or thoughts on this. PS 2: the Steam version works well and unlocks the achievements, so it seems to be an issue with triggering achievements through Xbox Live.
  19. Every time i try to run this game it crashes on disclaimer, I have 30+ hours in it and it stopped running. I have tried just about everything. I've reinstalled, I've ran it in dx9 and dx11, I verified my cache, I even ran it in compatibility mode, all my drivers are updated.

  22. Hello! I've had this game for a couple years and haven't had any major issues until now. This problem occurs in both Wintermute and Sandbox. I had been playing well into Episode 2 with no problems and then took a month or so off to play a different game. I came back to TLD over this past weekend and found that the loading screens are extremely long. The wolf will run for about ten seconds, and then freeze. Eventually the game loads my next play area, but I have had load screens that last 5+ minutes at a time, which obviously is very frustrating when you're in Milton going from house to house. I believe the game is installed on an external harddrive, but I have not had this issue before. I've disconnected the Xbox and let it rest for a bit before plugging it back in, and still have the problem. I thought it was related to Wintermute for some reason, so I began a Sandbox game (custom). After about ten minutes of play in this mode, I found myself facing the same issue. I really want to keep playing but the long load screen is just killing me. Thank you!
  23. Hi all, Super stoked to play the game, but I crash every 10 mins or so. Looking at the crash log I'm seeing no physical memory available, doesn't seem right to me? I have attached my log files, have a gander and see what you think. Cheers crash.dmp error.log output_log.txt crash.dmp error.log output_log.txt
  24. After getting horribly lost in Pleasant Valley a few times I finally realized that the in game map (the one you draw very slowly with charcoal) seems to be rotated by 90 degrees clockwise. Either that or the sun is rising in the south. When following a fan created map I'm always pretty much where I expect to be. Is this a known issue? is there a way to fix it?
