  1. I have successfully uploaded and attached .mp4 videos in the past, but cannot now. I've tried .mp4 and .mov without success. I get a message: "No video with supported format and MIME type found". If there is a particular codec I should use, or something else, please let me know. EDIT: Nm. I loaded the videos into an editor and saved as .mp4 with the H.264/ACC mp4 format and that seems to work.
  2. Message the long dark forum : Hi there ! First post here for me so I hope i'm doing it in the right section and everything :) Hi everyone ! First a little introduction, you probably don't know it but if you're reading this and if you are a regular user of this forum, you've probably helped me countless times already, so thank you for that. I've been playing for about 3 years (on and off) and mostly loving every second of it. This is probably one of my favourite games ever, the community is amazing and the team behind the game seems super comitted to offer the player a kick ass experience ! I first started playing on PC and got as far as you can go (achievements & badges etc...) so I decided to buy it on PS4 as well, thinking that it'd be nice to wonder in the snow but from my coutch (and wanting to have a hard copy of the game as well) ! Anyway with that said, I'd like to report a new type of crash on PS4. I've tried to look for it on the forum and on reddit but I don't think anyone reported a similar event. I like long runs and a fun challenge I impose myslef is to get as many Achievement as I can in one single run. So I started my very first game on PS4 and got a very good amount. Then it was time for the painful but meaningful "Faithful Cartographer". (I should precise that all this is very new and that I started my game not too long ago and there hasn't been updates or fixes since I started it.) So I make myself a good amount of coal to draw with, gear up and start my journey ! Doing many stuff in beetween, my game now adds up to 132 days survived :D Wich I'm proud of but still not feeling releaved because i'm not quite done with "Faithful Cartographer". I'm only missing the Blink Inlet locations wich I saved for last because I was super excited to discover it (haven't been playing for a while). On my way to Blink Inlet through the Ravine I keep noticing some extra long saving times when I enter a building or when I wake up. About 10 seconds everytime wich is kind of annoying when you're looting an area but wich isn't a deal breaker (yet). Here comes the crashes. Two Crashes to be exact. First one leaving my home base in Coastal Highway after playing for an hour that day. It crashed precisely during one of those anormally long saves. Got freaked out, didn't want to loose a +130 days run. Turned the game back on and ooof, it was still there. A day later (IRL), I resumed my game and went to Bleak Inlet, super excited to discover everything in this area, I was playing for two hours when the gamed crashed again after waking up from my matress (as I did countless times before) while the game was taking for ever to save. This time, no luck. My save is gone when I try to restart the game and that's a 132 days run with 10 locations left to discover before getting the "Faithful Cartographer" achievement. As you can imagine, at that point I'm ... disapointed to put it mildly. Boy do I hate when I die from a stupid wolf after a long run, but I understand it and it makes me more carefull for the next run but this time, it's not me... And I find it a unfair. So, I've cooled off a bit and then went looking for an explanation, that brought me here ! Hey you :D So anyway, i'm pretty sure there is no way to get my run back (even though I think it is somewhere, corrupted, since when I want to charge a survival game, it says "3/25 slot taken" down, and only one game is visible) but i'd like to know if someone has an idea about the reason behind this crash. Coming from PC where you can manipulate gamefiles as you wich if you don't care about the permadeath aspect of the game (that I like) I was nontheless expecting the PS4's OS to be steady enough to not do this kind of nonesense. My theory is that the PS4 is not powerfull enough to endure a really long run where the player is gonna save the game hundreds of times. But damn, it's so sad if i'm right. So, to simplify : - Does anyone had the same issue and know where does it comes from ? - Does anyone know if it it possible to prevent this for happening again ? (BONUS QUESTION) Finally, and it's kind of a Hail Mary question but, do you think there is any chance I could get my save back, not corrupted ? To end on a fun note that made me laugh even though I was angry, I'm 27 and this is the first time in my adult life that I felt again exactly the same way as a kid when I found out my Pokemon saved on GameBoy Color had been erased. Well except this time I didn't cry haha... Or did I ? Sorry for the long post, (and probably the spelling and grammar mistakes, English is not my first language), I don't have a potato but here is some Maple Syrup. Take care !
  3. I can't find the spot for Forlorn Muskeg Hat Creek Radio Tower Vista Location. I have gone all around the tower but can't find the vista spot anywhere. Anyone else having the same problem? The other two towers and all the other vista locations have worked so far just fine. This is my 8th vista location now.
  4. Anyone else having the same problem now after newest updates (1.8 and 1.81) that the game saves 6 times longer than it used to? Game freezes every time while saving. It used to be like ½ a sec and now it can take 3 secs and game gets totally jammed. Would not mind but in a long run it starts to be really annoying, like we all know, game saves a lot. Saving used to be totally smooth before.

So I need help I've been taking screenshots for the last 2 months ish after switching to pc (Xbox game bar seems too inconvenient, shortcut won't work) and cannot for the life of me find where they are. Looked it up and apparently they should be on my desktop. They don't save there for me. I have a tld instagram account (it's private though. No self promo from me) and I want to post some new stuff. I've been using f10 for hi res ones if that helps. Thanks for any help guys.
  8. Hi, my game crashes my pc and i need to hard restart it. (Any help is appreciated) The game crashes after 10-30 minutes of gameplay. It has also crashed in the menu screen. There will be a slight humming/buzzing noise in the background. PC does not respond to anything (need to force shutdown). I have tried everything in the support article "Troubleshooting Crashes or Graphics Issues" I have also tried un-installing and re-installing the game multiple times. My PC can't run it in OpenGL for some reason. PC is not overclocking or overheating. System specs: Windows 10, 64 bit CPU: Intel i5 6600K@3.50 GHz Graphics: ATI Radeon RX 480 16GB ram. I did send the Hinterland Support team an e-mail and while waiting for a response, I thought I might as well post this here. This is what is copied from the output log.   9. Hello, sorry if there is already a thread discussing this topic, I didin't found it. I started to play TLD when it came available in xbox game pass in PC. I fell in love, obiously, and just some days ago I purchased it in the Steam store to have it "permanently". I have a midrange laptop (GTX 1050, i5 9400 and 8GB). The game runs really smooth in the Microsoft launcher, but the Steam version runs poorly with the exact same quality configuration. Like, in the Steam version I have several frames drops, even just looking straight to the floor. Someone had the same experience and knows a way to fix it ? I'm really sorry about my english, it's not my first language. Thanks you Castex
  10. Please please please fix the brightness indoors! It is incredibly annoying. Whether it's breaking dawn or colorful sunset it's often pitch black inside. I have to spend a match just so i could climb the stairs in the house to get to bed. But that's not the worst part. The worst part is playing interloper, spawning in HRV, having no luck finding matches and then trying to navigate the cave to Mountain Town in complete darkness. I'm going to slowing die of exhaustion/dehydration in that cave. I'm just tapping random keys until i can spot tiny light somewhere in the distance, but no luck. This is very disappointing. Please please please fix the brightness indoors!

  12. Hi, I'm on PS4 and after updating 1.78, the game crashes (blue screen) when it reaches the main menu. Never had a single blue screen before. A little frustrating, I cannot continue my odyssey 😢. I hope a hotfix will be available soon. Thanks in advance.
  13. So during the Archivist challenge I saved up a bunch of shell casings and gunpowder ingredients, enough to make 200 bullets. I retrieved the code from the radio tower, and made my way over to the Cannery. After waiting for the next aurora, I was surprised to see that the code did not work. The red light would be on, but an error sound would play when I tried to enter the code. I double checked and the code was indeed in my inventory. I even waited for 15 days to attempt to enter the code again during 5 separate auroras, but it did not work. I'm not sure if this is intentional because of the increased frequency of auroras in the Archivist challenge, or if this is a bug.

As I was playing through chapter 3 of wintermute, I noticed that when aiming in with a rifle, the aiming stamina on the bottom right would display as full for a moment then instantly go to about 75% before decreasing normally. I know that external factors can affect maximum aiming stamina which is likely what is happening but i seem to remember a red portion of the bar just like the sprint bar but it is not appearing at all.
  15. Hello, As of the Fearless Navigator update, I am now experiencing the Storm Lantern's sway/swing animations choppy and stuttering. The best way I can describe this is that the animations appear to be very low fps. Like 10-20 or so. So to reiterate, I am not losing or having dropped frames on the game itself, the issue is the Storm Lantern's animations being choppy. Also I am experiencing the same problem when throwing rocks, torches, and flares. As I see the objects in mid flight, the object stutters the entire time till it hits the ground and stops moving. Before this update, I never experienced any of these problems. I have not changed any settings, hardware, etc. Has anyone experienced this for the most current update?
  16. I crafted a pair of deerskin pants but i cannot wear them. They show as NEW, finished, but even if i am carrying them, the game will not allow me to wear them.
  17. A lot of the options and functions, especially for items in our backpack, are convoluted and sometimes even redundant. For example, if I want to harvest a storm lantern, I open my backpack and select the lantern. There are three options on the bottom-right of my screen: "Use", "Action" and "Drop". I have to click on the "Action" button, then I have to go to the top-left of my screen to click "Harvest", and then I have to go back to the bottom-right of my screen to click "Harvest" again to confirm the command. And that's just for the lantern. The same applies to most tools in our inventory, as well as clothing. That adds up to a lot of unnecessary mouse movement. It would be a lot simpler, in the case of the lantern for example, to omit the "Action" button and simply have 5 buttons listing the options right off the bat (see below).
  18. It would really be appreciated if we could have more control over game sounds in the "Options" menu, more specifically the ability to adjust the volume of waterfalls (dang that's loud in the headphones relative to other sounds!) and wind. Please and thank you! 🙂
  19. So I just finished the 3rd episode and the game just ended, is there anymore story in the works or is it just over? Plus I never once saw a weapons work bench like ever, I found only one gunpowder is all my playing time. I just have lots of questions about this whole ordeal. Is the game just over? Story wise

  21. I started a new game yesterday. After a couple of hours, I entered a building (to force a save) and quit for a while. When I restarted TLD, I hit Resume and, surprise, the game I was playing previously opened! After a bit of exploration, I discovered that the new game was stored at the bottom of the stack, rather than the top. I've been playing TLD for at least a couple of years and I've never seen this before. I can continue the game using the Load function, but it remains at the bottom of the list, so Resume (which loads the game at the top of the list) doesn't work for this game. Otherwise, the game is fine, so scrolling to the bottom of the list and loading, rather than Resume, is only a minor annoyance. It's just weird. Has anyone else ever seen this? Update: Being the inquisitive type, I tried some experiments. Although the game in question continued to save at the bottom, would a new game do the same? I tried, and it did not. The new game saved at the top of the list as normal. So, if I went back and loaded the troublesome game and saved it, where would it be? I tried and it now saved at the top as normal. So problem solved. 'Still weird. 😕

Hi everybody, first of all, I definitely ove this game, and I have it on a Mac Book Pro Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014, 2,5 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2 GB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB, b ut unfortunately I've got a lot o lag and it's very frustrating. Even if I chose the low res settings the game is very slow. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Is there something to do to, to set in options, to fix this problem? Thanks a lot. Francesco
  23. I was playing earlier today for couple of hours and made a stash of water bottles, about 8 litres. I placed them all on a counter in the PL Farmhouse and continued with playing. After entering the farmhouse again, saving, exiting the game and then launching it again few hours later, I noticed that the entire stash is gone. Also other stuff placed on counters disappeared (coffee tins, salty crackers, tea). As far as I can tell, only the counters were affected. No "Lost and found" red box anywhere, I searched the house, basement and the surrounding area. Any idea what can I do? Thanks.
