  1. Became literally stuck next to a tree coming down a hill in Mystery Lake. Perhaps it's just bad luck with the evironment? Attached is the debug screenshot. Couldn't find anything on a quick search of current bugs. I spent at least 5 minutes trying to move around to get out of it, but alas...

  5. Its minor, but I noticed it straight away, there is a gap in the texturing that makes part of the cliff see through near the lake overlook on ML. Screenshot (its near middle):
  6. Hello, since version .349, the main menu in the Linux version is unresponsive when running the game through the 64bits binary (on a 64bits system). This appears to affect several users, see this GoG post: Weirdly enough, when running the game through the 32bits binary, the issue does not occur. As for a more precise description of the problem: the game starts fine; the initial disclaimer appears, and clicking with the mouse makes it go away; the menu background loads, and then clicking again makes the menu items appear. From that point on, it is not possible to click on any of the menu items (including Quit); the options highlight but clicking does nothing. I happend to have the game both on GoG and steam (updates on GoG were a little too slow for my liking so I ended up buying it on steam as well ;-)); and I can confirm this occurs on both versions. In both cases, running the 32bits binary works (the menu is responsive). [edit] Just saw that the steam and GoG binaries appear to be exactly the same; so I guess it's no surprise that it occurs on both.
  7. I`m suffering for multiple continuous crashes. The game crushes when entering/exiting the cabin. Attaching archive with some crash folders. My operating system is Windows XP.
  8. This has been bugging me. I think the character should be able to move his head left or right a certain degree (45 or 90) without changing direction of movement or side stepping.
  9. Hi again guys!!! How are you? so, I know it's early (maybe not!!) to talk about hunting with companion animal. but as we talked about dog as a companion (and it didn't go well). I think eagle is more reasonable and realistic. If you have any Idea about other usage or something. i be happy yo know it.!!!!!!!! thanks for reading !!!
  10. I've been playing the long dark for the last couple of weeks. Love the game. But I just went on to play it tonight and I've never had this problem before. Damn near died and lost everything I've been working on for the last couple of days. All of my indicator bars were in the white except for my hunger bar, it was very low and my condition was at 47%. I was then attacked by a wolf and it went all the way down to 1%. I fixed myself up with a wound dressing, ate and drank water so that all the indicator bars were in the white. But my condition stayed at 1%. I slept for 2 hours and my condition went to 5% and all my health indicators are still full but I am still woozy and have blurry vision. Is there supposed to be a slow condition recovery from a wolf attack after the update or is this a bug? Again all my health indicator bars are full and in the white, I am healed but my condition is at 5%.
  11. Whenever I try to go to from my PC I get a blank white screen with nothing but the text "bad-bots.html" in the upper left hand corner. So I'm submitting this support request via my iPhone.

  14. hello let me start by saying that my first 4 sandboxes did let me select my difficulty / gender. though, due to a string of bad luck leading to premature death in these characters, they are all dead. upon trying to start a new sandbox, no matter what i select, it sets me as male on voyageur. im still able to select my starting map. my lil sis completely refuses to play as a male, and i completely refuse to play on anything other than stalker so you see my issue with this i understand that anything can happen in the alpha, but i just thought i should inform yall, hopefully have it resolved in the next hotfix. in the meantime, i will just play on challenge mode. i still have quite a ways to go on white out!
  15. So... okay. An extremely frustrating bug here. What happened: After Penitent Scholar came out, my 400-day sandbox file got corrupted - which is fine I suppose. It happens. (Kept getting "Too many heap objects" error that caused CTD every 5-10 minutes or so). I started a new file in Timberwolf Mountain, gathered every resource in the whole zone to the Mountaineer's Hut, then took my first steps into Pleasant Valley to begin migrating the ~100kg of loot toward my retirement home in Coastal HW. On my very first trip into PV, I came across a shocking thing: an empty container. Not just ANY empty container, but one that had already been searched. It was.. odd. But I figured it was just a simple bug on that object. Weird, unsetling, but not heartbreaking. I made a quick investigative run toward the farmhouse, and on the way there I found more empty containers. Empty corpses, empty boxes... and then I started seeing burnt-out torches laying on the ground - in the exact same way I used to leave them as markers back before Timberwolf Mountain got released (when you could pull them out of fires instead of brands). Now genuinely spooked, I hurried into the farmhouse. All the furniture was broken down, everything was empty, and right in the middle of the sun-room there was a pile of about 45 torches. I remembered distinctly making that pile months ago. And next to it, one dresser drawer filled with all the stuff I had gathered on that exact same save file. Somehow, despite all reason, I had been here before. But I had just gotten the "New Location Discovered" notification when walking into the farmhouse. I purged everything with fire. I deleted every sandbox I had, deleted every saved journal I had, and uninstalled TLD on all 3 machines I play it on. I made sure that everything synced to Steam Cloud after I deleted things. The Inquisition was less thorough. Another 35 in-game days of play gone. But, with the undead sandbox finally scattered to the four winds, at least I was safe... I started again in TWM, last week. Dragged every resource back to the hut again. Climbed up and down the Summit about a dozen times. Went into Pleasant Valley; no ghosts. I breathed a sigh of relief, and spent the next 50 in-game days bringing everything from PV and TWM to a house in Rural Townsite. Onward to Winding River, no problems. Then I entered the Dam. And it was back. Everything was empty, except for a small pile of resources I know I gathered in a long-deleted save in a locker near the Upper Dam exit. Metal shelves were all there, because I played this file before the advent of the Hacksaw. I died in this file. I fell off the Rail Bridge. I remember dying not far from here. This was the weirdest, most grim case of Deja Vu I'd ever experienced. Steven King actually ran this plotline in the Dark Tower series. According to Steam, I have put 861 actual hours into this game. Wolves, Bears, Blizzards, and Disease all failed to scare me away. Now I'm too terrified to even start up a new game. What if all my Sandboxes have been with the exact same survivor? What if I've just been trapped in a crazy, bizarre Groundhog-Day curse, and now I've come back so many times that the quantum states are overlapping - no, bleeding through! How can I remember my own death? How many times have I died? IS THIS EVEN REAL??!? Is this supremely profound psychological terror all part of Hinterland's master plan, or did it spawn of its own accord? Seriously, though. I would love some help.
  16. I love this game, but there are things to be changed. One thing I truly hate about it is that sometimes is not true enough. Take for example, you got into a house, is well located and you have enough food. You decide to stay there for a time. You move a lot of cans, decorate with the few options you have, and when you go to sleep you found a dead body besides de bed. Your bed. And you can´t do a damm thing about it. Is like "Hello dead man, nice house you got. Is mine now. Good night" It´s just not realistic! You would -in real life- move it outside the house, far away for wolves and bears, and maybe if you have time say a little pray for him/her (also i Haven´t saw any dead woman corpses). And then I would have gone back home and decided wath color fits the best for the room... Joking, but really, why do i wan´t a broken tv facing me while i sleep. Garbage. Can´t i clean the table, the dishes, the broken drawers of the kitchen that for no reason at all i can´t close?? Please! It´s ridiculous! Also there should be a way I could move things to another place more easily. I mean, aren´t there shopping carts, or bags, or i dunno know, something? I just think the game is not truly itself without this things. These things are just to obvious and every time i play I can´t forget them. Still... really great game. (Pardon my english. No forum for argentinias gamers (from the end of the world) yet)

  19. Desolation Point cave's wolf ended up this way after getting wounded with a knife. It kept running in circles like crazy before going down.
  20. Hello, Since the Penitent Scholar update went live I've been unable to take any screenshots at all other than F8. F9, F10 and F12 (for Steam overlay) are no longer working. I am not sure if this issue existed during the Test Branch phase as I never tried it then. The last time I could take screenshots with F10 was in v. 338.   23. I just bought the game but I don't see a setting in game to disable it. Even if I go down to low quality it still remains, which you'd think wanting low quality for more framerate would at least get rid of it. I don't see anywhere in the user001 file to tweak it, although it's hard to see due to all the gobbily-gook inside of the file and I'd rather not tinker with something and accidentally break it. Even by using my GPU's control panel to attempt to disable and override the application's Anti Aliasing setting doesn't work either. The anti-aliasing is absolutely butchering my FPS and giving me serious input delay unless I go in a really low resolution but that still makes the game more or less uncomfortable enough to sap the enjoyment out of it. Is there a sure-fire way to turn it off, even if it's roundabout? If there is no option or method, will one at least be coming soon? I just see no benefit to barring users to have a toggle for it to be on or off; even if it was bunched into the quality setting.
