About Me

  1. This deer walks around the old farm in Forlorn Muskeg and is always scared by my movements inside/outside the barn. I crept upon him, but could not shoot him because he is invisible.
  2. I had 10 arrows but it shows "7 more" when I wield the bow. I used the red one so it broke down - still the game shows 7 when I wield the bow.
  3. After every wolf attack the character`s arms continue to flail in the air in a`fight animation` only disconnected from their body and without any clothing. This continues for several seconds. I will try to remember to bet a screen shot next time.
  4. I used the mountaineering rope to get down to the ravine basin. On my way up, I stopped to sleep at the ledge, then continued my way up. Once I was already at the Carter dam's door, my game crashed. My last save was at the ledge, but one problem: I could no longer grab the rope, the prompt didn't even show up. It seems that loading a save while you're on the ledge is what causes this bug? I don't know, but it's a start. Since I'm already making this thread, are there any secret dev methods that could let me teleport out of there? Lol OS: Windows 10
  5. I just came across TLD on the XBox store and played the Trial absolutely loving it. I wanted to try it out after some trial and error, I realized how much fun it was going to be. That said, I wanted to ask if buying the game preview means I'll own the game when it is fully developed and published. I had fun but if I'm going to buy the game, I would rather not pay extra just to play an incomplete version early on. Does anyone have the answer for this? Thanks!

    Build a cabin

Hey hinterland I'm hopping we could add the ability to build a cabin or a camp site in the game. The way you could build the cabin is with 50: fir wood 50:ceder wood But it could take 5 days to make. The camp site would take 20 cloth and 15 sticks you can and the ability to add a camp fire or not. This is what I would like to see in The Long Dark I hop you would take into consideration of my ideas Thanks for reading
  7. That message flashed up on the screen briefly as I was transitioning from Timberwolf Mountain to Pleasant Valley. Game still playable, no obvious issues, so I'm just curious what the message pertains to you (other than the obvious).
  8. This is my first time on the Hinderland form but I have to first give props on the game. I have been playing the game since late 2014, and I love the updates and progress you guys have made. I love this game and the idea of a survival sim and have recommended it to many of my friends. That being said I thought I would get a little more involved by reporting a few things I have noticed in the game. I have one bug, one issue/suggestion, and one suggestion/comment. Both are from the most recent update v.388: 1. Bug: Whilst hunting some wolves with the rifle around the Pleasant Valley Farmstead, I shot one wolf and proceeded to skin/gut it but I didn't account for the other wolf across the field sneaking up and attacking me. Needless to say I panicked and attempted to shoot the second wolf before it could pounce on me but failed (like a noob) to connect the shot. So then I successfully shook off the wolf suffering a sprained ankle/wrist and some bleeding. Due to the sprained wrist I couldn't reequip my rifle so I ran to the farmhouse to sleep off the sprains and recover. Hours later when I could reequip my rifle to go out and finish gutting the first wolf, I noticed the wispy smoke animation for the end of the rifle as if I had just barely fired a bullet. All be it a small bug but I figured I would let you guys know. 2. Suggestion/Issue: Same play though as the above I noticed that you couldn't breakdown furniture during the night, which I liked for the realism. However, I noticed that light was required to rip up the curtains in the house. I would have understood if I was using a knife or ax to slice up the curtains since you don't want to cut open your hands but I opted for my hands as I want to preserve my tools. To me there is a logical disconnect here when I can rip up my clothing all night long but not curtains that I'm choosing to rip up with my hands. Personally I feel that you should be able to rip up curtains at night if you choose to use your hands. What are your thoughts or the logic behind not being able to rip up curtains at night? 3. Suggestion/comment: At the start of this first play through on stalker I spawned in Mystery Lake by the Dam and was excited to pillage the dam for supplies right off the bat. Even though there was a risk of encountering fluffy. Anyway got through raiding the place and was about to head out when guess who showed up.. fluffy. Managed to win my fight with her thanks to the knife I had found and thought to cook up all her meat and taste the spoils of my close call. Ate up three juicy wolf steaks to find that a new featured had been added intestinal parasites. I thought that's interesting since it showed up on my first aid thing. I had a 8% chance and thought I would be fine. Famous last words contracted the debilitating parasites and quickly ran out of antibiotics. But luckily was able to find enough mushrooms to get all of my daily doses. I know that you guys have been receiving a lot of criticism on this mechanic and I was initially with them on how ridiculous this illness was with its finite amount of resources to cure it. Contracting it several times would be the end of any survivor due to limited supplies. However, when looking through the wiki at the skill system and specifically on the cooking skill line I found that at level 5 you no longer have to worry about that. Maybe this was a response to those criticisms since the threads I was looking through were from around April 2016 but either way I'm now 100% okay with the parasite system now that there is a way to avoid them if you manage to survive long enough to be a great cook. So I guess my suggestion is that when/if people still complain about it to you, you can immediately point to this as the solution. Anyway that's all I have for now. Thanks for the great game and I look forward to your successive updates!
  9. I'm stuck on a rock in the ravine. Please fix! It's super frustrating to have all your progress halted by a rock.
  10. Well, I'm not sure it's an error. I experienced, that the condition of the medicines change, and a weird way. Antibiotics: The condition-change follows the biggest volume. E.g. I have 12 pieces of 98% and I have 2 pieces of 26%, after a while I will have 14 pieces of 98%. Painkillers: The condition-change follows the worst condition. E.g. I have 18 pieces of 98%, I have 18 pieces of 63%, I have 6 pieces of 49%, after a while I will have 42 pieces of 49%. Comments?
  11. I've been playing The Long Dark since late 2014 on my Macbook Pro 15" (mid 2010) - Mac OS Sierra (also crashed on the El Capitan). In that time I've typically been able to play at around 25-30fps on low settings. Since around 5 months ago my game crashes causing me to do a hardware reset. The crash happens 100% of the time when I load up an old save and try to go outdoors causing everything to freeze on the black loading screen. The crash also happens 100% when I start a new game / challenge and try to quit causing the computer to freeze on the menu screen. I can't alt-tab or do anything except a power reset. Here are some of the steps I've made - I have reinstalled the game via Steam. - Checked game integrity on Steam. - Tried different graphics settings. Please find my player log (from October) attached which was an attempt at playing before it crashed. I've have tried to create a dialog with Hinterland at least 4 times now in 5 months and I'm really close to giving up unfortunately Player_2.log
  12. Dear all, First off: a happy new year to everyone! Now to my crash: it occurred right after loading the game the first time after the v.388 update. I started the game, deemed that I didn't have enough time, so I wanted to quit. I hit the [QUIT] button and was greeted with the message "error occurred -- game crashed -- please send in your crash report..." So here I am reporting ;o) Greets, EEE Specs: Win 10 (Version 10.0.14393) really low end gfx hardware (AMD RADEON HD 6450) Intel Core i5 4 GB of RAM crash.dmp error.log output_log.txt
  13. A bug where i cant exit area between a plank and forge. Normally you can't even get there, but if you jump/slide from 2nd floor to place in the left to forge you get locked in small area which you can't exit if you don't have any tool to brake the plank that's blocking the way out. You can't crawl or get out anyhow, tested it for half an hour. Playing: PC: Bug occuring: always
  14. Quick recap of current game run; On Stalker, day 259, game started just after the Halloween event ended. Since the update to v.388, I've lost 4 bedrolls. All from Wolf attacks. Last bedroll got ruined 1 hour ago, and that was at 98% condition. Game did not even report that any clothing were thorn. When it is late in the game (day 200+), I always keep clothed material worn above 80%, and bedrolls above 90%. But since v.386 - when the new layered clothing options came along - it looks like a coder at Hinterland tipped off the Wolf's that there is more to sink it's claws into, because they now tend to spawn close around you, instead of just lurking and hunting. Anyways; 3 bedroll lost in Wolf attacks with bedroll on me; - this is silly; because the animation shows the Wolf pushing you to the ground on your back. Unless it got a bedroll-fetish, I see no reason for it to tear apart the thing you are protecting with your whole body... 1 bedroll lost while it was on the ground in a cave on Forlorn Muskeg; - and this one sucked the most, since I was just popping out to finish off a Wolf that I had knifed into submission 10 minutes after I had restored that bedroll to 100%. He came at me, limping, and suddenly got magically back to sprint mode, and destroyed the bedroll in a cave 500 feet behind me. (edit1 - +tag) (edit2 - posted on the official bug forum)
  15. 2 days ago, I started tld (on xbox one) to find the all progress on my feats had been lost and reset to zero, and that my stalker character had been deleted. I don't know what caused this, but I don't want it to happen to anyone else, so hinterlands might want to look into this.
  16. Hello all you lovely gamers out there! This is Part 15 and i hope you enjoy it looking forward to any feedback but I do apologise in advance about the sound it did record with the wrong mic. Thank you for watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmlGY25SjJ4
  17. Noticed there are some small visual artifacts on top of grass. Not super familiar with recording so the video looks a little dumbed down. Playing in 1920x1080, on "High" Settings. 18. Select "Thermal Underwear" in inventory, click "Actions," rotate the on-screen model. The model seems to pivot somewhere by the ankles (or lower), allowing users to rotate the item near entirely off-screen. The undies in question My undies are in bundies
  19. First post here so please let me know if I can provide more info! Indoors or outdoors, when pressing Right Click to move a rifle round, the round almost turns completely invisible. Moving the round inside Model looks fine when simply sitting But moving it yields this Graphics card Specs: Card name: AMD Radeon (TM) R9 390 Series Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 20. Alpha v.388 The cabin fever risk is not going down. The cabin fever risk is at 23%, I spent 8 hours outside at a campfire, the percentage number didnt change. The last two times I got cabin fever this happend. Both times on interloper, different locations. One suggested to change the system clock before the 4 day event. Last time it seemed help. This time it didnt help. Added the savegame files, put them into a savegame folder. You will have cabin fever risk which doesnt go away. There is a fire outside. You will spawn in a selfmade shelter( Coastal Highway near entrance to Pleasant Valley ). Just slept 3 hours. The fire is low on wood. boot global scenes.zip
  21. I entered FM, got to the forge, and when I went into the menu for it, I was able to craft arrowheads. I had not started a fire or anything. The required temperature was red, and I repeated it when I did start a fire using only wood to get to 22 C.
  22. Was exiting Forlorn Muskeg through the train tunnel when the loading screen froze for about 90 seconds, followed by the game closing on its own. I restarted it through Steam, and the sandbox game was gone as were all three of my badges(Snow Walker, Free Runner and Book Smarts). I still have my Steam achievements which I could care less about.
  23. I'm playing this game like 20 hours but I cant see any wolf or bear or not even living deer. I played 3 different difficulty and 3 different map but nothing changed. Just a lot of crows and I heard 3 times wolf howling but nothing else. I removed the game and install it again but its not worked. This is very annoying. Where are my animals ? EDIT: I figured out that they cant move or attack me. Also challange mod has this bug.
  24. Hey guys there is a problem in The long dark. When I walk (or when I stand) the display bugs and will appear around me trees, rocks, mountains! Why? Is it a bug or just the apocalypse? In old version I don't have this problem.
  25. Hi All, I think I found some weird errors in the game. Namely, the drawers/cabinets and items. There are items appearing in them randomly! First I was telling myself I made a mistake, to place a flare into the cabinet, were my canned foods are. But when I opened a drawer, that was labeled "empty" (searched through earlier) and I found a cargo pant in it, was more than strange. Since then I was cautious, and experienced appearing items many times. I was NEVER experiencing that something would disappear!
