  1. Every time that I exceed 55 kilo, my indoor walking speed is reduced to inches per minute as compared to the same weight when walking outdoors. When I'm outside and my carry weight nears 55 kilo's, for example while gathering wood, after I pick up a stick, I might start off slow but after I hit crouch and then pop back up, I am able to walk at a near normal pace. Once walking as long as I don't pick anything else up or stop for what ever reason, I am able to continue forward at a deliberate pace. But as soon as I enter an interior cell, my walking speed drops to a snails pace. Once inside, the drop to crouch and walk normal trick doesn't seem to help. Is this a new wrinkle or what? Not a deal killer, but annoying as heck! Hate having to drop stuff just to have to pick it back up as I am putting stuff in storage and/or reorganizing my base camp.
  2. Hi there. As the title says... I found some threads on this from late last year, but they seemed to stop abruptly without being resolved. I can't be much help as I've sat on this problem for a very long time now as I wasn't playing the game. I thought it might resolve itself through an update, but that never happened. Was there ever any progress on fixing this? If we just have to suck it up it's not the end of the world, but I've been playing this game for years and it would be nice to have that progress reflected in the Feats I had partially earned. I've attached my save file. You can see there are two main playthroughs, one 41D and one 49D, but my 500 days survived feat progress, for example, is 0% or something similar. Cheers, Tom TLD-FeatsLost-Sirey.rar
  3. So I decided to go from ML to FM to learn to live with nature, to learn the map and how to survive, I get attacked by a wolf near the forge, get the clothing damage condition. I checked my clothing, no damage at all, but when I check my inventory, by bedroll that was almost fully repaired turned into a ruined rag Is this supposed to happen or did I find a very nasty bug?? Thanks in advance! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=918432206 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=919100852
  4. Since the update around May 2016, or so (outfitters), TLD stalls during gameplay. After several minutes, the screen locks and the only way to recover is to hit the Windows flag and turn off or restart machine. At the time the problem started, was using: OS: Windows XP 32bit Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66 GHz 533 MHz bus Graphics: GeForce 8600 GT 256 Mb GDDR3 Memory: 6 Gb 800 MHz DIM DDR2 Tried everything I could think of from, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, to entering the registry and deleting all references to TLD and steam. Got TLD running again, but it still stalls in the fashion mentioned above. Planning to install DDR5 4Gb Graphics. Upgraded OS and related hardware to no avail: OS: Windows 10 64bit Processor: Intel Pentium D 3.60 GHz 800 MHz bus Graphics: MSI Radeon HD 6450 1 Gb DDR3 Memory: 8Gb 800 MHz DIM DDR2 Last note: Tried to run game with all recommended versions of Direct X. output_log.txt
  5. My character has gone mad, she likes to say "come on little fire" at random times. While walking near a bed without a fireplace near, after haversting a ravaged frozen deer. She just utters "come on little fire" in different tones of distress, and while I am exploring trying to find a new dress.
  6. So I loaded an old Voyager save in Desolation Point, and I noticed something seemed... odd. Uh, guys...? I'm in the title screen. TRUST ME, I'M JUST AS CONFUSED AS YOU ARE Glitch? Feature? I haven't messed around with my game files at all, and the save file was made fresh with the newest update, so I'm not sure why this happened. But it was almost worth a borked save to finally feel the weight of that shovel in my hands. (Also, THERE ARE WOLVES IN HERE.) P.S. I don't really need urgent support for this; it's no big deal. I just wanted to show off the coolest bug I've encountered. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

  9. Hi, I was playing the Whiteout Challenge and when I went into one of the houses to save (near the garage) it was starting to have a slowdown and once the icon was done spinning to save all the screen went to was a black screen. Audio however was still present as I was in the house. I figured this was just an error or something so after I waited a few minutes for the game to come to with nothing happening I exited the game and tried reloading it up. When I went to go to the challenges again it showed that I have no current game save? I did a google search and didn't really find much other than to verify my game cache integrity (which I did). I'm hoping my game save is not corrupt or can be brought back as I had just about everything I needed to start to finish the challenge. Any suggestions or ideas on what I should do to bring back the save? Additionally let me know if I need to provide any logs or anything of that matter. Thanks

  11. Hope you all enjoy my new video of The Long Dark . Part 2 is getting even better. I never been very good with that bow... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIs4d36f4L0
  12. I'll post again, because nobody saw my last post about this. I can hear deer moving around, and occasionally see their antlers poking out. This has happened in pleasant valley (screenshot), and once happened with the wolves on the coastal highway lake by the log sort.
  13. I was over 35 days into my game on Stalker when it just disappeared on me after experiencing a few glitches. This game was my 9th attempt at surviving in Forlorn Muskeg on Stalker difficulty and it was the culmination of months of gameplay and frustration. I started the game in Forlorn Muskeg and I finally achieved my goal of surviving 30 days without leaving FM, but I ran out of matches, cloth and scrap metal so I decided that I would head to Mystery Lake instead of letting myself die. ML was incredibly easy compared to FM but this time I lost my game to a glitch instead of losing it to the wolves! I got my first case of cabin fever so I packed up some firewood and fish hooks and went out to the fishing huts to spend the night. I loaded the oven with 8+ hours of firewood and made some water for drinking, and cooked a piece of wolf meat. I ate the wolf meat, which gave me the usual risk of parasites, which saved my game but then I noticed there was a glitch with my cursor. The windows mouse icon was flickering in and was half visible and my screen movements were sluggish, like I was stuck half way between my game and the windows desktop. I wasn’t able to click on anything or open any menus, so I alt-tabbed the game and brought it back up to see if it would fix it. I didn’t fix it and so I was stuck in the fishing hut, unable to do anything except wiggle my FOV a little bit from side to side. I couldn’t quit the game either because the controls weren’t responding so I just alt-tabbed the game, right clicked on it and selected “close”. I figure it wouldn’t be a big deal because the game had just saved itself but when I started TLD again I found that I only had 4 saved sandbox games where before I had 5. My game had disappeared, as if I had just died, even though my HP was high and I wasn’t in any danger at all! I don’t know if it has any relevance to my problem but I recently had some other glitches where I had to quit out of my game. The other glitches were all related to the main entrance of the large cabin at Mystery Lake (which I think has been reported by other people). When exiting out this door I twice found myself in a situation where I was below ground level and falling into an infinite abyss. I quickly hit esc and quit the game before I found out if the fall would kill me. I experienced another glitch twice while entering through this door where I spawned on top of the interior structure where I had to fall “through” the roof to enter the cabin, but once inside I found that it was completely empty and all my gear was gone. Luckily this glitch fixed itself when I exited the building and entered again (this time through the back door). I have no idea if these glitches are related to my game-erasing glitch but they did happen shortly before. In case if my preamble hasn’t made it clear I am really choked that I lost my game for no reason at all. It took me a lot of effort and frustration to survive FM and you can even read about my frustration in the thread I made in “Alpha Playtest Feedback” about the difficulty of wolves (http://www.hinterlandforums.com/index.php?/topic/14733-wolves-are-still-too-numerous-and-vicious/). This game was my final triumph against this insane difficulty so you can imagine I am pretty pissed that it just disappeared due to a glitch! Please tell me there’s some way that you can restore save game files?!
  14. Hi, I am running the game on a PC and the game was from GOG, The challenge I am doing is to spend 3 days in each location, So far I have finished 6/15 with some time in other locations, My character is stuck in a small alcove at the end of a ridge that runs along a cliff face just outside the Old Island Connector No 3 Coal Mine at Desolation Point (turn right after leaving the coal mine takes you to the cliff edge), If you turn right after leaving the coal mine in the mountains and walk to the cliff edge and turn right again - the alcove is at the end of the ridge, It would appear when you enter the small alcove you actually step down slightly but unfortunately it is too high a step to get back out, Also I rested after entering the alcove - so no save way out This character has been going for 79 days now (not a lot compared to some) and I would hate to have to start again but if I have to then I have to, Just thought it should be reported TLD output_log.txt
  15. So, exploring Carter Hydro Dam (UpperDam), I was surprised by Fluffy. I was the winner eventually, but one of my precious Canadian Toque got ruined, beyond repair. So, when I went to the Ravine from the Lower Dam, and realized there is another wolf there, I decided to take off all my clothes before fight; -20C or -40C, I'm freezing either way. So, technically, I was naked. (I chose to attack the wolf, before it attacks me, the place was too small for always avoiding contact.) And guess what happened, when I approached the wolf, it was running away scared! I had to run after it, to force the fighting. Later I was thinking, what the wolf coulf feel, seeing a naked idiot approaching. This doesn't mean I fear, that undressing is a protection against wolves. (I know, that sometimes if I surprise a wolf, it can be scared away.)
  16. Hi, this is the first time I encounter the situation, so I don't know how often (or always) this occurs. I was making a 4hour fishing session in an Ice fishing hut at Coastal Highway, when heard a wolf catching a deer nearby. I thout, OK, later I go and see it. When the 4hours passed, I left the hut, and the deer carcass was just 38 steps away. I saw the wolf leaving, so I waited till it goes far enough, and went to check the carcass. Here's the result (not good):
  17. Hello. I'm having an awkward problem. My items (mostly clothing) seem to be duplicating sometimes when I enter/leave buildings. I didn't have this happening anytime before, am currently at Coastal Highway if it matters. I suddently got overcumbered by getting one or two items, so I decided to take a look into my invenory, this is what I found: I've just died in this last interloper game, so I started another game on Voyager (again at Coastal Highway, but by random spawn now) and this is happening again. My medical items got duplicated, my wood logs and some of the food. The game even gave me some salty crackers which I didn't have. This is my gear, pratically at fresh spawn (just after I visited one building). I didn't have any of the unequipped clothing gear: GameClip-Original.mp4
  18. Hello, I'm currently playing the Nomad challenge (91 days in) and really enjoying the game so far. I'm almost done with this challenge, only 2 days left in the mountaneer hut to complete it. Since it's my first time in this Area, I decided to start exploring the mountain a bit. While trying to escape from a bear, I stumbled upon a weird looking glitc, like the rock texture from the mountain was transparent depending from where you look at it. I went closer and walked on it and since then I'm permanently stuck there I made the mistake of placing my sleeping mat a little further hoping that I would wake up next to the mat and get out of there, but of course it saved and now I'm stuck and can't go back to a previous save. I can move the mouse and look in any direction, but I can't move even 1cm... completely stuck. Here's a screenshot of the location: I would really appreciate any help, is it possible to get out of there or rollback to a previous save? I would really hate loosing all my progress on this challenge output_log.txt
  19. In TWM I had some tinder bundles from chopping trees. Well at level 5 I do not really need them, so I use them to make Arrow designs on the map (and other things) to mark my way and guide me where to go. I got on a giant rock and dropped 5 to begin to place them into an arrow figuring on the rock with the snow it would provide some contrast at a distance I might see it better. Well they disappeared, literally, gone, nowhere to be found. No amount of crouching, mouse movement etc ever showed them up again to be used/moved/picked up.
  20. I posted this on the steam board, but I thought I should post it here instead: I haven't played in a couple of months. I just purchased a new ultrawide monitor and thought it would be fun to see how the game looked. When I start the game, even at the option screen, it is very laggy and slow. I was borrowing my other monitor and had to return it, so I can't check to see if that is the problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing the slow-down?
  21. Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone else has random audio cuts while playing at random times. Im running the game at max settings and everything is perfect except for the random moments where everything just goes silent for a second.
  22. Xbox One Sandbox Alpha v. 394 Game Difficulty: Voyager Location: Timberwolf Mountain What happened: Got stuck in a blizzard whilst harvesting carcasses in the debris area nearest the Mountaineer's hut and Bear's cave. I (as the female survivor) was able to gather enough sticks to make a snow shelter and warm up. However, during the night, I gained the affliction of frostbite on my hands without having any preceding frostbite warning and I had only been sleeping for 1-2 hours at a time with no significant temperature decreases. Upon looking at the clothing menu, I saw that multiple items of clothing were frozen. This frozen status was only visible in the menu allowing one to choose what parts of the body clothing covers Now I have a permanent 10 percent reduction in health that could have been avoided if proper warnings had been in place so that I might have had the opportunity to avoid frostbite. Please help?!
  23. Trying to figure out this issue, posted on r/thelongdark previously. I'm trying to think if anything I am doing when exiting the game or turning off the xbox or a location may be the issue. I've had four fairly long plays end up with the error, erasing all my data upon restart and no longer displaying the corrupt game. Each time: Xbox was off for over 24 hours since last play. It seems to happen when I don't play two days in a row, to my knowledge. Each time: I saved by sleeping, then powered down the XBOX with the game currently in play mode (didn't exit to a screen). Each time: My play progression was 10+ days in-game time. Each time: Player was indoors in a shelter. (not just a cabin) Each time: Player saved during daylight hours. Not: Xbox was either internet connected or not connected during loss of save game. 50/50. (sometimes I don't plug it in, using my laptop as a router through phone company wifi) Not: Locations were different, Coastal Highway, Mystery Lake, Timberwolf Mountain, Mystery Lake. Not: Varying states of health.
  24. Haven't been able to heal using collected healing items for some time-am I missing something? WTF
  25. Stuck deer, pensive pond, right in the dock. Shot him with the bow a few times in the back side to boost my archery score lol. W10, Surface book, i7 16gb ram
