  1. There's an indoor water fall with no water in Ash Canyon... the cave after wolf nest on way to goldmine - I forgot it was there, torch went out clothes soaked but no water fall lol - also the safe at Spence in FM has no numbers on the dial when trying to open from outside the barn... FPS is lower after update (running RTX 3070 Ti) Found a GO drink in the ravine trailer where the flair gun used to be (interloper so must be bug?) No flare gun in ravine anymore and only 3 shells on summit / saw double rope in TWM (post update). Very slight freeze when opening backpack - wasn't like that before update.
  2. Honestly, don't try to master it during normal gameplay - I can get the custom game code I built later and upload here, which is basically stalker with warm weather and higher wolf count (also added higher wolf damage so there was more on making the shots). Go CH and save in fishing hut with loads of wolves / deer around, load up 50 arrows and when they spent just re start the save. You can literally just stand there taking pot shots for hours, honing skills, without worrying about losing a proper save file.. after a couple of weeks you'll be a proper sniper!
  3. @James Hickok @Sgt Socks Thanks for replies on this - I posted a while ago and since then have moved to PC... and taking out wolves is no longer a problem - It's like a different game! To get decent with bow I made a custom game with wind / cold turned right down and max wolves / highest aggression, then forged like 60 arrow heads and based up on the ice at CH. Put in a few hours a day and all good. I really enjoyed my time playing on the console but to really master certain aspects of the game I feel like you have to go PC due to the speed and precision it offers. I highly recommend doing this for anyone struggling with the bow on console - not dissing PS5 version at all just to be clear, but it was the issue.
  4. apologies @Leeanda should pay more attention to user names!
  5. @Leeanda Thanks for reply anyhow man - good to hear from a fellow console player - feel like 90% of TLD players are on PC, am glued to PC for hours each day working so like gaming on console for change of scene. Took me ages to get good with bow long shots, guess I'm gonna have to get on the ice at CH and try and crack this wolf thing by grinding it out 😐
  6. @conanjaguar yeah - I think staying calm might be part of it ha... I've only been using bow since going loper... was in stalker for ages using rifle, wish I'd used bow from day 1 no matter what the difficulty level, it's by far the best weapon imo. It's funny cause timberwolves are easier to kill for me than a normal wolves (without fire / torch that is) Am really starting to think it's the extra precision / accuracy you get with mouse aim vs controller.. sounds like excuses, bad workman blaming tools lol, but have studied you tube vids and can't fathom what I'm doing wrong.. Need someone who plays console and pc versions to chip in!
  7. I just crossed over 500 days on Interloper.. but there's one aspect of the game I can't master. Have become pretty decent with the bow long range after tons of practice but can't kill wolves when they charge. Seen a lot of streamers just shoot them in the face after triggering charge by aiming bow, but even after 500 days (and thats just this run), I can only kill them with fire as a safe guard. This is becoming really annoying as have to walk about with a torch constantly. I get that you are meant to move sideways and backwards, matching the path the wolf takes (left or right then he straightens out), but the damn things never straighten out! Am on PS5 and wondered is this easier with mouse and keyboard? The amount of hours I've put in to trying to get this working is ridiculous! Thanks in advance for any pointers!
  8. still a way to go unfortunately.. 25% as well so even better
  9. probably better keep playing to unlock that feat 🤣 be one of the first ones I use on future runs!
  10. Nah - am on PS5 (so no UGC mods?, or do you mean custom?), also I like sticking to the "set" difficulties / experiences, as they are tuned pretty good imo. It did seem to be mainly AC.. also I was trying to do a lot in a short time frame so maybe that added to my frustration levels after being double stomped by moose at bottom of rope climb so couldn't sprint as much.. lesson learned, as now always check before decent!
  11. agree - headwinds in real life are just as annoying... they got it spot on.. it's just so frustrating when trying to move from one side of a map to other, maybe they could dial it down a tad - not completely get rid. Although when the wind goes it's amazing ha - I'd say out of 20 in game days spent in AC 10 were unbearable due to the winds... it made me leave before looting whole map.
  12. Try cave in AC (stone shelf) deff happens there and the one in Ravine (ML end). I think SpanishMoss is right tho it's all caves towards the back. This game is great but my No1 hate is headwinds... Ash Canyon and TWM are so bad for it.. walking at 1mph most of the time even tho not heavy, I think the devs should make it less annoying.. when you're playing for so many hours it does become a bit tiresome imo.
  13. Thanks for all the replies! All really helpful info 👍 When you say put away, you mean just dropped from inventory on ground right? (not put in container or cairn) This makes sense since all bedrolls that spawn in other caves would be ruined if blizzards ruined rolled bags as well. That thread is interesting - Admin seem to think it's a bug.. damn, the wolf attack was pretty much right outside the cave.. he even followed me in to the cave - deff the most aggro wolf I've ever come across.. went and shot the whole pack on the pond opposite the hut to get even ha. So the struggle somehow affected the bedroll even though it wasn't in my inventory.. that admin post was last month so hopefully they fix it as that was so nearly the end of me. Used 2 stims and ammo to get even with the wolves 😡
  14. Hi all - have only been playing for a few months and have a couple of questions maybe some veteran players could answer.. Am currently on day 70 of a stalker run - Was chilling in cave by deer clearing and got jacked by a wolf bad so fixed my self up and ran back to cave only to find my bedroll, which was on like 80% earlier had dropped down to ruined after the attack. It wasn’t on me when I was savaged, it was in cave - I’d been patching it up constantly and keeping an eye on the decay since you’re screwed when living in caves without it - wtf! It nearly ended my run but managed to stim my way to the hut further south, whilst using snow shelters to rest in along the way. I prefer to use caves to live in so this has me spooked. I played for over 150 days on voyager (single run) to get a feel for the mechanics and didn’t experience this. I had just spent days and days in cave over in Ash Canyon due to double moose stomp and bedroll didn’t decay like that there - and it was out on floor the whole time (apart from when patching up normal decay from sleeping). Do some caves destroy bedrolls to make the game harder? I was living the good life so it feels like the game wanted to do me over - also the wolf attack was so extreme compared to average struggle damage. Does the game get harder the longer you survive? It seems like the weather is getting worse and wolf attacks are doing more damage. Are some wolves worse than others? Last one - In some caves the character walks really slow towards the back of cave (like in headwind) what’s that all about? Is this connected to bedroll decay? Am looking to move up to loper for next run but man the learning curve on this game is steep ha! Am on PS5 btw - thanks
