  1. I don't like traveling during Auroras on Interloper either, but if I have to, I make sure to have a flashlight with me. I've had too many runs ended by trying to scare off wolves with gunshots or flares only to have them keep charging while under the effect. Flashlights have always seemed to stop them.
  2. A flashlight is very useful on Interloper, as Aurora-affected wolves are a huge danger and you don't have the benefit of a rifle. That also means I don't have an extra 4kg to carry at all times, so fitting the flashlight into my inventory is much easier. Revolvers and the distress pistol can be very hard to attain, flashlights are generally an easier find, and they're more reliable to scare off the more aggressive Aurora wolves than bullets or flares anyway.
  3. Finally decided to join this forum after hundreds of hours in the game. I'm active mostly on Twitter, where I share a lot of stories and screenshots from The Long Dark, some of which have been kindly retweeted and shared by Hinterland. I've been playing the game since its original commercial release, and spend most of my time attempting to survive on Interloper and custom Stalker+ difficulty modes, or climbing to the tops of the highest peaks for pretty pictures. I've always loved reading about others' experiences with the game, so much so that I've purchased it for over a dozen of my friends, so hopefully I'll be able to meet some fresh faces here and offer advice and guidance where needed. Otherwise, you'll probably see me sharing screenshots and stories. Glad to be here.
  4. I'd definitely say my least used item in a lot of Stalker and Interloper playthroughs has been the water purification tablets. Stones and snares would be a close second since rabbits are never really worth the effort of hunting unless very desperate for food.
  5. A bunch of shots from my trek to the top of Timberwolf Mountain last week.
  6. I've had the same issue specifically with the packs that spawn in and around the Cannery. After killing one or two of the Timberwolves in the pack and scaring them off, they'll come back and attack me usually less than two or three in-game hours later. This pack of Timberwolves followed me to the cabins and across the bridge to the worker's quarters, only ever leaving me alone for maybe an hour or two before returning. The entire time I was in Bleak Inlet, I was constantly being harassed by them unless I was up in the mountains after climbing the rope.
