  1. Day 19 - Late Morning - Coastal Highway - Quonset Garage The first room I entered was a storefront, shelves once filled with food and other general goods, now nearly empty. There are a couple of cans still here however, but that’s all that remains. I’m guessing once people decided to leave, they took everything they could and bugged out. I don’t blame them, half the houses here are in complete ruin, there’s no power, and the wildlife is completely feral. I was hoping there would be at least someone still here, but that clearly isn’t the case. A doorway next to the register led to the garage. A large, empty room, with not much I can make use of. There was a workbench, and a hacksaw. Maybe I can do something with those, but I need to think about it for a bit. Behind the garage, was another room, that was some sort of living space for whoever worked here I assume. Talk about sleeping at your desk. I’m going to search the rest of the town, see what I can take, and pool it all in here.
  2. I think they've redone all of the animal meat. And they all look pretty tasty.
  3. Day 19 - Morning - Coastal Highway - Log Sort While I was walking along the road, I kept looking out towards the ocean. I saw two islands in the distance, both of which had houses on them. The frozen over water had a bunch of small fishing huts, they looked identical to the ones back at Mystery Lake. Aside from that, I kept passing by some buildings here and there, all of which were completely destroyed. Hard to say what they used to be, or why they were in ruins. My best guess was they were temporary cabins for fishermen, similar to the cabin I rented back at Mystery Lake. When I made it close to the town, I surveyed the place from a small distance away. Half the houses in this small town were destroyed as well. The rest looked abandoned, no smoke coming from any of the chimneys, no footprints anywhere, it was a ghost town. The most noteworthy building here was what seemed like some sort of gas station in the center of town. I approached, and could read the sign on the roof. The place was called “Quincy’s Quonset”, another dead neon sign with the word “gas” stood in front of the building. I went up to the front door and let myself inside.
  4. Jump mod has been updated https://github.com/HAHAYOUDEAD/Jump Personality has also been updated https://github.com/HAHAYOUDEAD/Personality/releases/download/v0.5.1-beta/Personality.zip
  5. Day 19 - Morning - Costal Highway - Train Unloading I ate sardines for breakfast this morning. Yes, it was about as pleasant as it sounds. But after that horrible experience, I continued my journey following the train tracks, but eventually the pathway was blocked. The tracks went through a tunnel that was filled with large boulders. I either had to turn around and head back to Mystery Lake, or find another way forward. I chose the latter option, since there’s no way I could make it back with no food on me. So, I went down a pathway to the right of the tunnel, it led downwards, towards the ocean. As I made it to the bottom, I spotted a paved road. Seeing it filled me with hope, I had a new path to follow. Plus it was a lot easier to walk on than snow. I looked along the coastline, and I saw what looked to be some sort of small town in the distance. That's where I headed, along the road, and towards the town.
  6. Day 18 - Early Night - The Ravine - Cave Well, here I am, inside a cave for the night. I haven't written anything for a few days now. I’ve just been too tired from traveling, and I’m half considering heading back to Mystery Lake Park at this point. I’m still following that railway track; it has to lead somewhere. Question is, how long will it take me to get wherever that is? I’m down to my last bit a food, a tin of sardines, and there doesn’t seem to be a restaurant nearby... I might need to hunt another deer. I don’t like the idea of hauling all that venison for however long with me, and the thought of wasting the hide and guts also bothers me. But unless I find something to loot, my only other choice will be starving... I’ve also been cleaning my firearms with the cleaning kit. The revolver was already pretty much spotless, but the rifle defiantly needed a good bath... Not surprising, considering where I found it. I also decide to wrap some cloth around it to help with my grip. Also, it makes the rifle a little more ‘like mine’, personalize it a bit more. Maybe I should give it a name as well. Maybe... “Hilda”, yeah, I kind of like that name. Elegant, rolls off the tongue, memorable... Okay, I’m going to stop with that topic, I think the loneliness is starting to get to me. Writing certainly does help, I shouldn’t have taken a break from it. I know this sounds silly, but it feels like the closest thing to talking to you again Eliza. You were the only that told me to write about my “vacation”. Well, I can hardly keep my eyes open any longer. So, I'm going to finish boiling this snow, and call it a day.
  7. Since Timberwolf Mountain was added to the game.... And I'm still waiting for that front half of that plane to show up...
  8. 1. Download the 0.5.7 installer from github. 2. Open up the installer 3. Go to settings 4. Click the "Show alpha pre-releases" box at the bottom left 5. go back to automated 6. 0.6.0 should show up in the version selection box
  9. Well, seems like the Melonloader team has given us a nice Christmas present. Melonloader has been updated to 0.6.0. It is an alpha release (I think), but it does mean that mods can now be updated to the newest release to TLD.
  10. Maybe even make it like Call of The Wild and make the blood puddles bigger depending on how fast it's bleeding out.
  11. These days it's rather even for me. I alternate between Will, and Astrid every other playthrough. I guess Will is likely the more picked since I used to play him exclusively back when I first started playing in 2015. But these days I normally play custom mode with survivor voices turned off, since there's only so many times you can here "Hope nobody needs this anymore" after you pick up a rancid 6 percent condition tin of sardines from a trash bin.
  12. Tools I have: Hatchet, knives, whetstone, hacksaw, crowbar, can opener, stones, fishing tackle, flashlight, fire starter, and matches. Tools I Don't have: Any firearms (live in Canada), no bow, and no distress pistol either. No bedroll, or lantern. Clothing: Toque, scarf, balaclava, gauntlets (kinda), hoodie, simple parka, wool longjohns, snow pants, wool socks, insulated boots, ear muffs Food: About 2 months worth of canned food in the pantry (assuming I will be surviving with my fiancée, and roommate). As for water, about the same, but I guess we can just boil snow. First aid: Bandages, sewing kit (suture), antiseptic, painkillers.
  13. Kinda odd if they do, but I haven't really noticed. To be fair, I'm not the person to take notice to this kind of thing, since I only slap crampons on when really needed. "Oh, looks like I'll be doing some climbing. Time to put on the crampons, and take them off when I'm at the top." "Oh, traveling through Forlorn Muskeg again. Time to put on the crampons to traverse the weak ice better and take them off when I'm gone" So the things hardly ever break for me.
  14. I agree. Even since Timberwolf Mountain came out, along with Mountaineer's Hut, I've been hoping that Hinterland would stray a bit from loading screen confined safehouses, and add more 'loading screenless' buildings. Sadly it's never really been a thing, other than maybe some spots here and there. Well, until now I guess.
  15. Found Vaugnh's rifle. This time in a proper spot. I was able to one-shot a moose with it, so I say it's a solid weapon.
  16. Just to be able to here that sound... I'm in.
  17. Guys, please relax a little. Everyone here is able to provide criticism as much as people are able to provide praise. We all love or at least feel patinate about Hinterland and TLD, otherwise we wouldn't be here. Criticism is important for a game, and any sort of work of art really. If people have problems with TLD, or Hinterland, this is the most ideal place to do so. If people wish to send kind words, and praise towards TLD and Hinterland, yet again, this is the ideal place to do so. There's no need for both sides to step on each others toes, because at the end of the day, both sides want the same thing, the best game possible, and the best game company possible. My personal view on the whole bunker situation is I find it a bit disappointing that they needed to be disabled, but I'm not losing sleep over it. There could be a perfectly valid reason as to why they needed, or at least be better off being disabled for the time being. I'm also a bit disappointed that no mention of them being disabled was made in patch notes or elsewhere. I'm not a game dev, I'm a baker, so I'm not going to be able to provide any concert reasoning as to why they needed to be disabled, all I can do is make wild guesses, which my first post here was, a wild guess. If Hinterlands ever decides to start selling bread, and pastries, then you better believe that I will be here to provide able feedback, but until then, wild guesses is all I have. Okay that's it, please no more hostility. You're all better than that.
  18. My 2 bucks goes to it being the loot table refresh. Not sure why they removed them completely, they should have just let them stay unchanged for the time. Unless they are changing the location they're found?
  19. They finally made it so stuff spawns on the upper 'hidden' part of The Farmstead small bar. A backpack. And a corpse. Thank you Hinterland.
  20. I have found a spot where all five variants spawn. But I'm pretty sure that it was a bug.
  21. Here's an announcement from the TLD modding discord: "Modding may be a little bit away. The game now uses a newer Unity version and Melonloader doesn't work on that version yet. It may be several weeks before you can use mods on the latest game version. In the meantime, you can use the time capsule to revert your game back to before the update and play mods on that if you wish. Rest assured that modding is not dead for The Long Dark. We'll get through this, even if it takes a lot of patience."
