Hello all, I’ve been avoiding this site for almost a year now because I want zero spoilers about the updates. Any news about the switch update yet? Last I remember hearing about it was there was supposed to be an update in February about what was going on with the switch. I didn’t see any new news for these dates yet. I’m just too scared to read the new pages cause there’s lots of spoilers. I’m just eagerly yet patiently awaiting the switch update!!

Hello!!!! Any news on the switch yet? I’m a very loyal player and have been waiting very patiently to hear any news…. any. Last I heard was maybe end of 2023 and that was when? April? I’ve been avoiding this site, and all of my favourite streamers as well ,to avoid spoilers. We who play on switch haven’t seen even 1 of the updates while other platforms have had many updates and new content. I’m just a tad disappointed. I love this game but am very frustrated that I cannot play any new content. Is this going to be another green hell thing where switch is forgotten in the forward movement? Please just tell us the truth. Are we going to see another update on switch or has something with Nintendo made it too hard to implement new updates?

I want to start a loper run with guns, but I have read that there is no gun cleaning kits. Is there a way to tweak settings so they can spawn? Thanks in advance 😀

Playing on switch. Ya it’s pretty random. I may make another ticket, but I suspect that they will tell me that’s it will work better if I play my switch undocked ( which is tether not). The same thing would happen to me before the black rock update in AC and BI. I’ll try again tonight and see what happens.

Since the last “fix” my game is constantly kicking me out. I played for 2 hours tonight and got kicked out of my survival save 3 times. So I went over to story mode, and got kicked out twice. So frustrating! I hope there will be a new fix for the last fix 😀

I hope that the devs will fix the loading and save screen times, or maybe give a custom setting to manually save. I play on Nintendo switch and when I first start a game it’s fine, a few seconds. As I get farther in (50+days) the loading and saving screens last longer. I’m currently on 250ish day in my file and every time I sleep, enter or leave a building, or get a sprain, I have a 35-45 second save and or loading screen. It’s super annoying and takes away from the gameplay. Please make this something that will get fixed 😀

So if anyone out there has Disney+ and interested in bear and wildlife behaviours, watch Alaska’s grizzly gauntlet . It’s a Les stroud show. I’m only 2 episodes in (of 5) , but so far it’s amazing. And the following episodes have moose and caribou and black bears involved, so should be interesting. Ya so if anyone is looking for a new show to watch, there you go 😀

I’ve read that there is a bear right in the prison yard somewhere, and I’ve looked for her. I haven’t been successful in finding her, I was wondering if someone can tell me exactly where she is, inside the yard or out??? Maybe ive been unlucky with spawns but I’ve looked on 3 different save files for her lol. Someone gimme a hint please where is she and where is her den???😀😀

Soo…. Anyone know of a rifle spawn in black rock? I can’t find one yet, and I’d hate to have to go back to mountaineers hut to grab mine. I’ve got a revolver, but I’d really like to have a rifle to hunt a bear. Thanks in advance 😀😀

So I’m sure there is an old thread related to this, but I thought I’d start a new one. When you’re not playing the long dark, what other games do you play? I play on the switch, and when I’m not playing TLD I’m usually playing Zelda Breath of the Wild. Absolutely love it. But I seem to always come back to TLD. also, I’d much appreciate it if switch players would comment on their favourite games as I’m looking for something similar to either BOTW or TLD.

When I am hunting with my bow and killing rabbits, for example, after shooting a cpl arrows I run and pick them up, but when I do, I look at them for a second. That way it kind of reorganizes it so I’m using the arrow I examined( vs just clicking on it quickly). That way I only have 3 or so arrows in play that degrade and the rest are still at 100. Not sure if I’m explaining that right lol, but it works for me.

I just noticed that my journal says I have spent 0 days there when I’ve spent at least 5.

Oh and 1 more question… why can’t I make noisemakers? Do I have to fine one first?

I’m in black rock now, and wondering if there is the steam puzzle and toxic gas? I’m not sure if I’m ready to lose this save to the gas… should I maybe start a new save to practice? I played the gas once in story but died a bunch of times. If there is, is it different than story? Also I forgot… is it the mine with the gas, or the dam? Thanks all in advance 😀

She’s not wrong. I’ve seen one there too on a play through. He just likes to comment on lots of her responses to try to annoy her maybe… I dunno. But I like her comments, she always tries to help. Like, why drag a 3 month old comment up to just be rude?!

So, I’m mapping TWM, and I forgot where the other wing is. Got the one by the bear and moose spawn near the cargo bins. Thanks in advance 😀

So, the weirdest thing happened. I killed the moose at the hunting lodge in BR and I brought the hide and guts in and set them near the back door. The next day I brought all the meat in and started cooking it when I noticed the hide was gone. The guts were still there though. I was a little annoyed, but the same thing happened to me before with a bear hide in the cave below, so I thought it was some bug. The next day I went into the basement to craft some snares, and there was my moose hide floating in mid air near the firewood bin, still curing. So weird! Anyone had this happen before?

I’m on a switch, and still haven’t gotten the 1.97 hot fix. I try to update everyday, but it keeps saying I have current version.

I was in BR once, and slept in that cave with that big log outside. There were no bones or anything so I assumed I was safe. Woke up, and there was a bear sleeping on the other side of the fire! Good thing I was on pilgrim cause as soon as I took a step she woke up and ran out. Was pretty cool. I wonder if I had been on a harder level if he would have attacked me as I slept.

Yes a radio would be awesome up there! I’ve thought that many times myself!

I just completed hopeless for the first time. I did it in 3 days 2 hrs 1 min. What is your best time? I plan to do it again as I know I can cut some time down a bit,. Maybe you guys can give some tips on this thread as well. I did everything I could to cut time down, drinking coffee mostly, but I had a bad whiteout storm in PV. I still travelled through it as much as I could, but I did have to stop for a fire, as I was freezing lol.
