  1. As I see it and understand it now is, that HL community and HL itself has moved already to this position while I experiencing in many other games, that all the hardest difficulties doesn't mean to remove stuff. So I can accept it and give the custom settings a try. It also reminds me, that HL community kind of uses the time capsule to play an older version of the games, which shows that ppl are fine with less content.
  2. yes, thats what I ve in mind. Some ppl just draw and fill up the map, when they "beat" their run already and becomes boring. I mean with the same logic, Hinterland could ve also removed the Backpack in Ash Canyon for Interloper .... I believe Interloper should contain all game content, but much much more difficult. For example the mod https://github.com/DigitalzombieTLD/CanneryManufacturingDLC/ enriches the game content and let the hunting knife come back into the game (but much more difficult).
  3. I see. thats a good hint with custom settings. Ill look into it
  4. Hey fellows 🙂 short: guns, bullets, milling machines, ... are a big content of the game, which interloper misses. At least bullets could be very very rare and guns on very bad state, so without milling machines, you might find 1, 2 bullets per map. This would give Interloper much more content and still it would be hard. After you pass 100 days its anyway become alot easier to survive and can become booring. Some ppl even decide to go to next level "Outerloper" ^^
  5. I also will wait for a discont, since I play mostly Ash Canyon and Timberwolf Mountain before I die again. 20 Euro is a little much. I would ve bought it for 8 Euro - despite not really using it (since I continue play Ash Canyon, ...) - , but just to support Hinterland. This game is very great already!
  6. so there IS modding possible for TLD?? Found a good collection: https://xpazeman.com/tld-mod-list/
  7. So what I learned from my misery with killing wolves: Don't kill wolves. Use flares, torches, camp fire, run away etc.. Its just too expensive A match is cheaper than a bullet, which lastly you can use for killing bears, deers and moose.
  8. I thought also about it, but wolves are quite expensive. They cost a bullet or alot of pain. Therefore I like to get at least everything out of them. Btw If Hinterland introduces wolf clothes for all body parts, wearing all of them would increase even more the fear of the wolves from you and there would be again a balance to not need to try avoiding them so often. Currently the Wolf Skin Jacket doesn't scare so much actually.
  9. Yes, in my case I have now around 20 wolf pelts and can't do anything with them, because my wolf jacket never really get destroyed by struggles. Struggles hurt most times the head and hand cloths. So my rabbit skins can go away, but not the wolf skin ....
  10. Yes, its a cool side effect to use. Warming up cooked meat or water for getting the warmth bonus isn't possible 🙂
  11. Currently when sewing, you always need exact a specific time. Like also for destroying furniture or reading books. But when crafting most workbench items, you can abort and continue later. The last way enables you to cook in parallel and reduces alot of wait time. It would be great, if most of the activities coult be paused and resumed some time later on personal need.
  12. I completely agree to that. For example the modding community in Dont Starve Together enabled Klei to built alot more functionality and features. Modding is a very creative and active feedback to the devs.
  13. Why can't we make leather out of pelts? Or craft all kind of clothing throughout any pelt? Like a wolf pelt hat? I would appreciate it alot, because depending on the gameplay, people won't get any kind of pelt. The quality and weight of cloth could depend on the pelt you are using.
  14. Currently painkillers Rose Hip Teas are useless compared to the amount you have it. What about following suggestion?: When using it, your body gets a temporary immunity of restrictions upon sprained wrists and ankles. So when a wolf comes, you can take some of them and use a weapon despite having sprains. Same for climbing ropes.
  15. Just eat only 1 bear / wolf meat at a time. Never it less than 1 kg meat, because even eating 100 g carnivore meat will cause the affliction chance. If you get the real affliction, you usually have enough meds around. Good thing: during that affliction you can eat as much carnivore meat as you like. So I start eating carnivore meat, when I got 3 wolves dead. If a bear is dead, I hope I get the affliction in order to save normal food. I got the affliction in Ash Canyon and survived it by collecting all the reishi mushrooms in the southern canyon.
  16. You need to know the map and where the wildlife is in order to relax while being in a safe region. If you think in every corner a wolf could be, you ll get stressed out. So get the maps: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1901570789 Bears are very easy to avoid, if they block your path, then just try another time / day. Wolves are a little bit more difficult, but similar. Problem is they are more and smell you easier. Timber wolves are indeed a pain. I see it like this: if you pass a region with timber wolves (bleak inlet), you ve a good reason for it. So be ready for a fight or sprint from car to car or whatever strucutre. Timber wolves will not follow you forever and leave you if you get out of their ground. So know there space limitations and you can plan your infiltration / exfiltration. In the last 100 meters you can use marine flares. So I play stalker and I shoot them all. Normal Wolves can be distracted by going nearby of rabbits or deers. If a normal Wolf is following you, most times others will run away from you. That way wolves will actually not block your path. When Bears and Wolves are charging you, you can jump from a cliff, which they make stop following you often. So run up on a hill, find a rock and "climb" down. Face the fear and it will become smaller.
  17. The garage is a good interface to Desolation Point for crafting arrow heads and heading back to coastal highway with less time. You can also go to pleasant valley, caves and have more loot around. The garage has also much much more space. You can hear the wolves, if they are nearby and use the hills as well to hide from them. The cars, and houses nearby can be used to flee easily. Just if you go outside, the first 10 seconds wolves make no sounds and can surprise you. Currently I spawn in Timberwolf Mountain, getting some tools and get a moose and Trekking Backpack in Ash Canyon. After that I go to Bleak Inlet and repair every tool I can and craft ammunition (Stalker difficulty). The Mountain Town with Hushed River Valley is a nice place to settle down. Alot to climb and hunt without extreme weather. Makes fun.
  18. So I finished Eps 4. Was alot of fun. One of the few games, where I play the most recent updates! Some Feedback: I tried to increase the difficulty, but couldn't find anything in the options I got stuck on a street while going near the cave, which was increasing on altitude, but the street had quite little steps 🙂 Another thing: when leaving the cave, I went to the caynon down and not 100 m away from the climbing rope, a wolf just spawned right in front of me
  19. do we have already a blackrock map for survival? Does survival mode has already access to Blackrock?? 🙂
  20. Hope its not too late to give an answer in this thread 🙂 During day, you will find most valuable stuff by traveling outside. If your warmth bonus of your cloths is to less, you might need to warm up during the day, which cost you time or weight (for carrying fire fuel). So most efficient day is a day without a warm-up break. With 12-14 Celsius of warmth bonus, you will achieve that. In some day time you even increase warmth when outside - depending on the weather: If you get less then 10 degree Warmth Bonus. You will lose way too much warmth. Another consideration is to avoid strong winds, by moving aside to boulders. Strong winds will drain your warmth much much faster and slow you also down on headwind. You can use sprinting to move faster to better tactical positions. Also when walking on streets will speed you up (different terrain). All these factors need to be considered in order to estimate how long you will be exposed to coldness during the day, which in turn help you to decide how much warmth bonus you need.
  21. you are right. I tested it. Sprinting is helping you to control how tired you will become at the end of the day. This tiredness helps you a) to recover more health through sleeping and b) to sleep or skip the night, since you might not be able / not like to do anything during night. Instead to be idle in night, you can "hibernate", since sleeping reduce the consumption of calories and water. But what I missed in TLD was the exact differences - lets say how expensive sprinting really was. My test route marked in green: I started with full warmth, fatigue, belly and not water. At the end I had following stats: The temperature difference reveals, that with sprinting you are around 18-20% faster than with walking alone. The fatigue difference reveals that with sprinting you consume 300% more fatigue. Water and calories will not make any difference. The 20% faster are not really worth it, especially because the drained fatique will result in much earlier encumbrance, which in turn slows you down. Means in average sprinting makes you not faster, but slower. Therefore you can use sprinting only for the two points mentioned above (a), b)). Without this test, I couldn't know that, because the game is quite irritating you with the little arrows at the fatigue bar: When you walk it shows you most times 2 arrows down. When you sprint it shows you only 3 arrows down, but actually it should show you 6 arrows down. I suggest to put an option for replacing the arrows with values instead - only for the players, who are interested 😉
  22. Thank you, but that doesn't help. It only works for a short time and in the following thread there are more ppl struggling: https://steamcommunity.com/app/305620/discussions/4/3001046778355978080/ The noSync-directory will be created after some time again. There is no information, why it is being created and why it takes over the controls with its initial key bindings. I am not allowing the game to have internet access - only steam is allowed for updating games. This worked the whole time for all of my games on Steam. Why should others blindly troubleshoot, if there are developers directly at the source and can identify everything? And why we need to wait until december update for a fix. Just for information: I restarted the game and tested these usercfg files (by deleting them ) around 200 times. So actually I got used to change three keys every time I start playing TLD again.

    Improving UI

Thank you for the reply. Ok, if I continue encounter the pick-up-rabbits problem or stone-immune-rabbits problem, I will try to explain it to support.
  24. What I realized, whenever you enter a building, it become so much more relaxed. In other games, you still have some horrors in the building. hinterland could introduce some zombies, mean wolverines or ghosts, demons haunting in the buildings. Or to be more realistic, generated NPCs. Like in "This war of mine" you have then also moralic choices ... and besides its actually more realistic that you are not the only survivor.
  25. I see. Sorry, missed these posts. Yes, walking with altitude differences might make thinks difficult to implement, but I think these are elemental stuff in this game like walking with or through a storm. Yes, depending on the type, it would cost initial energy plus energy the whole time:
