  1. okay, so first off i wanted to apologise to hinterland for what i said. having read the twitter feed and i found out that the switch edition is on its way and will be released as soon as possible. a huge apology to hinterland as i had no idea that it was having to be delayed and now i feel like an a-hole for this. i can't wait for when it releases on switch and keep up all your hard work to create this game. yours sincerely, The Short Bright
  2. okay, so I have seen a lot of others who are asking the same question, where is this event on switch? come on hinterland, you cant just dangle this just under our noses, its cruelty, cruelty I say! I would like to know WHETHER the event IS coming to switch and if not, WHY it isn't. and there better be a damn good reason because this HAS THROWN ALL MY EXCITEMENT FOR HALLOWEEN DOWN THE TOILET AND FLUSHED IT 10 TIMES. maybe its a bug but still, its not right to alienate a group from a cool event just because of what console they use. so if this IS a bug, please fix it, I've lost so much time on this event already.
  3. unfortunately i watched lmg before we get our hands on so i have a decent idea of how it works, if you want me to give some small advice give me a shout
  4. oh thats why! thanks for this. as i'm from uk we use GMT not PDT so i was a bit confused with the times. thanks for clearing this up for me
  5. no, early footage shows a proximity alert when the darkwalker is within 200 metres. e.g it is 42 metres away the warning will say, DARKWALKER IS: 42.4 METRES AWAY
  6. i'm a long dark switch user and nothing has happened, at all. Is this a bug or is ETD coming late to switch/Europe? i woke up at 7 specially to play this and my disappointment was continental when I didn't find ANYTHING
  7. I feel this event was designed to make the player feel helpless, as you cannot see the Darkwalker or even physically harm it, and this makes the dark walker event feel like the knowing feeling that you are going to die eventually, BUT ON SUPER STERIOIDS. it also takes away a lot of the satisfaction of surviving, deliberately. In the long dark every day you survive feels like an achievement, like "I survived another night, hooray!" but it seems the Darkwalker event, you may be able to slow down the Darkwalker, but that's all you're doing. slowing it down. you haven't saved yourself, merely bought some time to escape. and that feeling of impending doom approaching (a bit like the moon in Majoras Mask) is true horror, and is a beautiful direction that such a game has NEVER gone in before. I love this event and it hasn't even started yet. Thank you Hinterland.
  8. i don't think crashing was his plan, he's a bush pilot, and those kinds of planes can land on nearly any flat terrain. and i think a lot of the roads used to connect but were destroyed during the first flare
  9. That small part in between BlackRock region and timber wolf mountain will most likely be a transition zone in the future. It would make sense and it might have a name like walkers (like people going on a walk for exercise) path transition zone since it looks rather flat.
  10. i think you're right honestly, the prison buses(yes there most likely was multiple) probably came from maybe some small airport or something in the northern section of great bear but the last bus crashed in the Milton tunnel entrance during the first flare and the others made it through to the other side but crashed also. you can see this due to the prisoner and guard bodies found near the entrance to pleasant valley
  11. thanks for the support! i just joined this community so thanks for the warm welcome. and yeah i think that would be a good idea tbh maybe the fog would thicken over time, and there would be an affliction for breathing it for too long and this affliction worsens the longer you are in that foggy region, like maybe it starts with low condition loss, a headache and deductions from the sprint bar and escalates to pain, exhaustion and eventually death. and these factors increase the chances of being caught by the Darkwalker.
  12. so this would mean that there is a limit to how long you can survive in the escape the Darkwalker mode, right? not counting the transition areas if you stayed in every area for the max time (30 minutes + the extra 5 toxic fog minutes) then you can only survive for a maximum of just under 385 minutes each run. I would really like to see areas slowly become accessible again as it would allow for players to play for longer and not feel cheated (even though I think that 385 minutes is MORE than enough there will always be some people who want to survive infinitely). so here is my suggestion: after 5 areas become inaccessible the the area that became foggy first becomes normal again, that way player can be even MORE strategic, as to carefully choose which areas to go to and help create a path to follow as they avoid the Darkwalker. i mean, this doesn't HAVE to be in the game, but it would be nice to be able to know that your time isn't numbered. if any devs or people who work at hinterland read this then thanks for making the long dark, it really shaped me as a person and i L O V E it
  13. im having nightmares of the darkwalker already lol this is gonna be like the blackout club but its the whiteout solo with and invisible creepy guy after your life
