The ability to ride bears!

My very first run I spawned in ML next to the logging trailers and looted them. I then followed the road to the broken fire tower assuming that there was something important at the end of the road. Finally by the time I reached the destroyed tower I had hypothermia risk and decided to just end the run and try again.

Today I realized that stack of papers exist and I don't know how I didn't know before

Mine overall is probably the farmhouse in PV because of the fact that there are lots of wildlife nearby (Deer, Bunnies, Wolves, and the Bear that sometimes comes through sometimes. Also the fact that there are lots of furniture to break down which solves the fuel problem. There is also the porch which is a great spot for hunting the bear, and just the fact that its big. What's yours?

Knowing generally when the bear arrives would be really useful so I don't get killed when crafting

Honestly even when I do this in voyager there is still nothing here. So I don't understand why there is a path here.

Okay, I only really have one explanation, but it seems that their behavior might be similar to a aroura which could also explain the glowing wolf. Now, did you see a aroura the night prior? Because it could be that they never realised the aroura ended and still act crazy even in day.

About a month ago my wife played through Subnautica which is another survival game with a more unsettling atmosphere. I don’t want to spoil too much for any potential future players, but there’s a certain enemy creature called a Reaper that has the most horrifying roar I’ve heard in any of her video games. That was the closest thing I can latch onto to describe what I heard outside the hut. I’d never heard anything like that in The Long Dark, and it sure as hell was not a black bear roar. It was loud. It was close. I made a bee line for the cliff. I climbed down the rope. My heart was beating out of my chest as Will slowly descended. As I was 2/3rds down, I heard the roar again and I started slipping on the rope despite still having some fatigue to spare. I hit the ground with a crack and had torn clothing and a sprained ankle, but no major damage. Through the fog, I hobbled as fast as I could to the barn out near Heartbreak Bridge not far from the Farmstead. When I got inside I closed out the game. I had made one giant circle in PV encountering one anomaly after another ending with...I don't know what. I don’t have any explanation for what happened, but one thing is for sure. Something is still alive in the game, and it is messing with me. I don’t know if I’ll play again. I only have 6.5ish days to 500, but I might need a break. I’ll post again if I pick it back up.
