I believe perseverance mills is the empty area on the map past desolation point and that they will make a way across the destroyed bridge to it because jerimaiah (I think it was him) said that you would need to follow the highway north to get there and it is a big empty spot on the map.

I do not know If this has already been mentioned but maybe adding more plants I know its winter but maybe there could be a few such as cattails that you could grow for food and grow the medicinal plants. Also I think it would be cool to add some sort of sled or something that could allow you to drag items behind you. and then finally I think adding bikes would be cool so you could get around faster

you get thirsty faster than hungry in real life and I agree animals should also break the ice. jumping would be good but only if you are unencumbered.
