  1. Its not like that dude. Iv never been to Canada, but can already tell you that while they may be well known for maple syrup, they are just like all of us all over the world. They like tasty food, a good time, and while the weather might be just a bit colder from time to time, still have seasons of heat, wet, cold, and dry. 👍 Its just a little different, Canadian style!
  2. Iv seen em over by the lakeside cabins before. Been a minute tho.
  3. Yeah, the ingredients are already in the game, but too much man. Survival sim, not call of duty. XD

    shotgun??

Been taking a look at everyone's comments, and Id have to say, for the sake of argument, I can see where a shotgun would feel rather unwanted....especially with the damage to hide + weight as you mentioned. At least on any other mode besides interloper. Sadly the flare gun has limited and non salvageable ammo. Because of this, trying to get to the cannery is nearly impossible with just the flare gun alone. I feel you would at least need 2 or 3 marine flares in order to do the job. Unless the revolver becomes a full blow world spawn in interloper, I would feel like a shotgun with many downsides would be a fair compromise as its supposed to be a defense weapon anyhow. Would a shotgun with those downsides really be that bad? At least in terms of interloper mode only in mind? The rifle does not spawn on normal interloper settings, so you will never have to worry about the added weight of a rifle and shotgun in your inventory at the same time. The extra damage delt to hides/meat, its not a really good farming tool either and would encourage using the shotgun to go for the revolver, and while you could still work on a bow and arrow kit, it would help your character buy some time for those who was unable to find the tools or supplies needed to craft.
  5. I made mention of simple rivets, that with the heavy hammer, boom like that. 😎
  6. Well, from the world map, Im taking it as bear island is supposed to be a big rocky and mountain like island. While timber wolf mountain does need to be its own thing, I feel like there should be some other mountains and peaks to climb. But, for the sake of one already installed in the game, how about something a big different....A harsh earthquake zone....Maybe a deep ravine where a small town has fallen to the basin? Might have to make it important, maybe a saw mill factory? We have delt with farms, mountains, towns, coal mines, and canneries. But no logging facilities yet. Could be a good next super structure to add to the game! But as for environments, its mostly plains, caves, one or two major ravines, a large forest and a mountain. From here, all I can think of is the epicenter of the earthquake that devastated the populace.
  7. If the wolf comes near, scamper up onto the loft with the bed. I have just went through the area and noticed he would chase you, but if you scampered up ontop of the loft, he will not be able to get to you.
  8. Its been suggested as the new normal...Hoping its a bug tho and the wolfies will not attack through fire with a later update....Just doesn't seem right IMO.
  9. From the sound and effect of the trailer they posted, Id agree 100%...Iv had bad and old ammo do this to me IRL...A bad measurement of powder, or wet powder is usually the culprit. Have to agree here, probably just too similar and kinda looks sloppy on their part.
  10. Can confirm, knife sucks at defense….Just made two, walking back with some deer meat, wolfie attack, went through the ENTIRE animation of a wolf mauling me, no lucky stab on the wolf and the defense meter never got above 10% while I frantically mashed the button....Have had much better luck with the hammer. That's a good starter run! Impressive.....You will not drown going through the ice, BUT! all your clothing will instantly get wet, your character will instantly loose all their temperature and go into hypothermia, and you will loose a small amount of health.....if you was already low, then yeah. You will die. Keep in mind that much of forelone muskeg does not have many places to find shelter....its a big open flat, so whatever you do, try to be on full health before going here….Even if you gotta camp outa at the trappers cabin, get that health bar all the way up first.....A couple nights after drinking the night time tea should do the trick, that stuff is amazing!

    shotgun??

Have to agree, the revolver is somewhat better than the rifle in some regards {constant ADS, able to multi shot, ect.} but a shotgun is supposed to be up close, and personal....Long range is not an option, so rifle would still have its place, and that would make a shotgun a perfect defense weapon for bears and wolves! Doesn't have to have anything crazy, like a pistol grip or anything. Just an old school wooden butt, pump, and bead sights. Ontop of that, while rifle rounds are fairly large, Im willing to bet shotgun shells are much larger and thus a limit of ammo would help balance itself a bit.
  12. Don't think Iv made it much further than 100 days.....between real life and forgetting what I did in game, pushing the envelope too far, or some minor incident and then me throwing a temper tantrum over it, I never really seem to get very far.....been getting a hankering for a longer run tho...
  13. Iv tried a few runs at HRV, but I can't find any shelter, so I kinda don't like it. Id like to know Im not going to freeze to death if my fire goes out. o.o
  14. well crap. x.x, I was so sold on it marking the timber wolves. Seriously hope this doesn't mark them moving onto the other maps. >.>
  15. With all the sugary snacks and maple sap Id be working with, it will probably be waterproof instead of soft and fluffy.
  16. I could agree with you there, but I don't think the devs would like that....Survival game, not hunting game.....with the survival mindset, I do indeed see the bino's being much more game style friendly.
  17. Im still ok with that idea, even if that's all you can do with it, that's still a very useful feature!

    shotgun??

Man, since day one Iv been screaming "WHERE IS THE SHOTGUN!?!?!" As its a number one weapon in nearly all of north America. {not just the USA but also Canada!} Simple to use, best for close range only, and now with the mill and reloaded, we could EASILY mill a makeshift boom stick. My only guess is either they are working on one now, its too easy to use and they will not add it to the game, or they are really toying around with different ways of balancing it. Hard to tell either way, but we will have to sit back and wait.
  19. I found another one, but this time Im not going to share it.....it is a bit funny, if you have a dark sense of humor. It can be found in a cemetery.
  20. I must admit, that was probably much worse than Iv ever done...Iv already posted one where I tried to snag snax while a bear was in immediate proximity, but I suppose I had one today.....was forgeing arrows and such, noticed I was getting hungry but out of supplies, went to kill a deer, but was absolutely dead tired and a touch overweight.....well, when your smell o meter is full, wolf spawns are literally just one rock behind anouther…..Can't run, smell like dead carp, now lets go home the long way. X.X
  21. I love absolutely everything you guys have worked so hard to offer us. Every game detail, the nice little coffee cups, all of it. For those of you who put in those 40 a week on the code work, the artists and every brilliant thing they create, and the guys who pull all the strings together to sew this little gem of a game together.....All of you......thank you, and am patiently waiting to see what 2020 has in store for us all. Happy new year!
  22. I was hoping to do a grab n run, Iv done it many times over, but usually with wolves tho. Interestingly I was not dead when I came back to. But I literally lost all my clothing in the process.....I think I had 38% undies, 4% sock, and 29% hat.....nothing else. Because of looseing everything I just worked for, I just threw down a fire and jumped in to end the run, but if I was a true scrapper, I could have made it. It was just going to be nearly suicide to get to the cabin, throw a fire down, sleep as best as I could and then run to PV and the airplane wreck to scavange anything I possibly could for clothing.....way much harder than I would have liked. I was going to shoot him with the flare gun, but when he glitched through the crate, I just went into full blown disbelief. 😳
  23. Yeah, that was the original "timber wolf pack" IMO.....the bummer is, nothing of true value to that area. Not at least until they added the forge. After they did that, now I feel like it is a area worthy of that kind of wolf spawn.
  24. As long as they get here before I grow a beard long enough to use as a floatation device. XD
  25. I have to say, Iv just been through ALL of those regions with a HEAVY fine toothed comb Sadly, nothing. Not a single bullet, shell casing, nothing.....Im starting to think that everything, ALL the final components for the revolver, will be in BI scattered everywhere. Either that, or there is some sort of bug or something going on that either will not allow the shell casings to spawn, or you must go somewhere specifically for a box of ammo.....then its up to you to keep that box of ammo loaded.... Its weird to keep finding plenty of Sulphur and stump remover tho…..Think I had 3 of each at one point in time.....enough gunpowder to use the harpoon gun a few times in DP. lol
